The Comparative Study Of Japan-US Trade Friction And Sino-US Trade Friction

As China's trade surplus with the United States continues to expand,there are frequent trade frictions between the two countries.History is always similar,and we find that,what the US done is similar with the Japan-US tradefriction in the 1980s.Therefore,it is significant to make a comparative study of Japan-US trade friction and Sino-US trade friction to explore the causes,stage characteristics,influence and coping styles and their results,thiscannotonlyconducive to dealing with trade friction in China,but also valuable to resolve trade frictions between developed countries and trade frictions between developed and developing countries.This paper uses a combination of theory and empirical research.Using historical analysis method to review the historical stages of Japan-US trade friction and Sino-US trade friction,on the basis of comparing the nature,the causes,the areas of conflict,the changing process,and coping strategies,so that we can examines the US's role in trade frictions,and try to deduce the common law of trade friction.From the perspective of political economy,a combination of Japan-US trade friction and Sino-US trade friction with the changes of the world situation is helpful to grasp the essential characteristics and the causes of trade friction,to avoid the adverse impact of trade friction on global economic development.After comparing the Japan-US trade friction and China-US trade friction,China and Japan 's trade surplus with the United States during their economic expansion period was the direct cause of the friction.Moreover,China and Japan have quickly got rid of the economic crisis and become more competitive in the high-tech field,which makes the United States feel threatened and dissatisfied and take the initiative to provoke trade friction.Revie wing the evolution of Japan-U.S.Trade friction,it is consisted of three stages:initial period,frequent period and comprehensive escalation period.Meanwhile,according to the characteristics of Sino-US trade friction,it can be divided into micro-trade friction stage,politicization stage and macro trade friction stage.Moreover,the division of stages is not onlybased on time,but also accompanied by the change of friction focus.In addition,with the industrial upgrading in China and Japan,both countries have experienced the transition of friction fields from low-value-added industries to high-value-added industries.Although the two trade frictions are different in time background and political form,they are similar in pattern.Japan's experience in dealing with trade friction has certain value for China to deal with increasing trade frictionsinthefuture.
