Study On The Characteristics And Mechanism Of Sense Of Place Under The Background Of Characteristic Town Construction

The construction of characteristic towns is an important measure to promote China’s new-type urbanization construction.With the in-depth study of the development of characteristic towns,it is increasingly important to adhere to the multi-dimensional development with people as the core and create a harmonious human-land relationship.The sense of place originates from the interaction between people and place,it is the connection between people and places It’s an important perspective in the study of human-land relations.In the context of the construction of characteristic towns，the study of residents’ sense of place is of great significance to the sustainable development of destinations.Therefore,this article starts with the sense of place of residents,studies the status of the emotional connection formed by residents in the process of human-land interaction,and further explores the mechanism of the sense of place.Finally,propose relevant measures to strengthen the sense of place of residents,so as to promote the harmonious relationship between people and land in characteristic towns and achieve sustainable developmentThis paper summarizes the research results related to the sense of place through literature analysis.Clarify the characteristics of the sense of place,as well as influencing factors,and backward influences.Based on this,hypotheses are proposed to explore the mechanism of the sense of place,that is,to explore the impact of basic services,social support and social interaction on the sense of place,and the effect of sense of place on residents’ tourism development support attitude and participation intention.In order to refine the path analysis,this study explores the direct impact on the dimension of the sense of place.With reference to the existing research,in the hypothetical link,the study initially divided the sense of place into two basic dimensions:local dependence and local identity.An empirical study was carried out with the Jade characteristic town of Yangzhou Wantou as a case.Data were obtained through questionnaire surveys and interviews,and the data were analyzed and processed with the help of SPSS26.0 and AMOS24.0.First,use SPSS 26.0 to do reliability analysis,validity analysis,and demographic analysis;Through exploratory factor analysis,the rationality of the two-dimensional division of the sense of place is verified;Perform descriptive statistical analysis and tests for differences based on demographics.Secondly,apply AMOS 24.0 to test the measurement model and structural equation model,and explore the effect of influencing factors on the sense of place and the effect of place on behavioral intention step by step.The research results show that the place dependency strength of residents is slightly lower than the place identity.There are significant differences in place dependency or place identity when it comes to location,age,length of residence,education level,occupation.The differences in both dimensions are not significant,when it comes to gender.In terms of mechanism,basic services have a significant positive impact on place dependency and place identify;social support has a significant positive impact on place dependency;social interaction has a significant positive impact on place identity;place dependency has a significant positive impact on place identity.At the same time,place dependency has a significant positive impact on tourism development support attitudes,and indirectly has a positive impact on the willingness to participate in tourism.The support and participation of residents in characteristic towns is driven by place dependency,and the role of place identity is not significant.Finally,combining the influence effects and the status quo of influencing factors,this paper puts forward relevant suggestions to strengthen residents’ sense of place and promote the development of characteristic towns from the perspectives of improving infrastructure and services,building social support system,strengthening social interaction and residents’ subjective initiative.
