In recent years,chain retail enterprises have become an important form of business organization in the field of commercial circulation.With the relaxation of restrictions on foreign investment entry conditions in China,large foreign chain retail enterprises have settled in China,which has intensified competition in China’s chain retail industry.At the same time,it has highlighted the backwardness of China’s chain retail enterprises in the inventory management model and business philosophy,which is directly manifested as the inventory level of enterprises remains high.For chain retail enterprises,inventory is a special physical asset in current assets.A large inventory backlog will affect the company’s capital turnover efficiency and hinder the company’s further development.Therefore,how to reasonably control the inventory level in the operation of enterprises is an urgent problem to be solved in China’s chain retail enterprises.Enterprise J is a chain retail enterprise that has been established for more than 30 years,with stores all over the country.In order to seize market share and expand sales,the company’s stores are hoarding inventory,resulting in a large inventory backlog,which has attracted the attention of management.Therefore,conducting inventory management research can not only reduce the level of enterprise inventory,but also improve the efficiency of capital use and promote the development of enterprise operations.This paper takes the actual inventory management of J chain retail enterprises as the research object.First of all,the domestic and foreign scholars in the field of inventory management research results are combed,and the relevant theories of inventory management are introduced,which lays the theoretical foundation of this paper.Secondly,on the basis of field research,this paper analyzes the status quo of inventory management in J enterprise,and summarizes the problems existing in the aspects of purchase,storage and delivery.Finally,from two aspects of strengthening internal management and external cooperation,the paper puts forward the improvement measures of enterprise inventory management: selecting demand forecast model in inventory purchase,controlling inventory quantity from the source;establishing supplier selection evaluation mechanism,and using supplier management inventory model to strengthen cooperation with suppliers,realizing information sharing between upstream and downstream enterprises in supply chain,and promoting enterprise resource integration In the processof inventory storage,it focuses on the classification and optimization of the enterprise’s inventory,uses AHP to judge the importance of various inventories,and then introduces ABC classification to classify according to the importance of inventories,so as to realize differential management and improve the efficiency of enterprise’s inventory management;introduces bar code technology to improve the efficiency of inventory counting;improves the process of delivery and establishes The distribution center can reduce the transportation cost and the risk of out of stock,improve the internal control concept of inventory management,strengthen the construction of enterprise information system,and ensure the effective implementation of inventory management.It is hoped that these measures can improve the inventory management status of J chain retail enterprises,reduce the inventory level of enterprises,speed up inventory turnover and improve the efficiency of inventory management,and provide ideas for other similar enterprises to improve inventory management,and enrich the research on inventory management of chain retail industry.
