With the continuous maturity of market economy in China,the state vigorously encourages the development of tertiary industry.As a knowledge-intensive industry,management consulting industry has found the spring of development.Small-scale management consulting companies emerged in an explosive fashion,but due to the imperfect national management and supervision mechanism,the whole management consulting industry is in disorder,and the competition is extremely fierce.However,the vast majority of consulting companies are small in scale and weak in strength.How to formulate corresponding development strategies to help small companies grow is a problem that all consulting practitioners need to think about.In 2009,Yuanhang Consulting Company was founded in Shanghai.At that time,the consulting industry was moving forward rapidly.Although Yuanhang Consulting Company seized the good opportunity to survive,it has not been bigger and stronger,and has been hovering all the time.What is the reason for this? This paper will take the example of Yuanhang Consulting Company for detailed analysis.In this paper,based on the strategic management theory and taking the Yuanhang Consulting Company as the research object,the author makes a detailed analysis of the Yuanhang Consulting Company by means of literature research and comparative research.Firstly,PEST analysis method is used to analyze the political environment,economic environment,social environment and technological environment of the consulting industry.Combining with the industry environment faced by the management consulting company(including market demand and market supply),the Five Force Model is used to analyze the competitive environment of the Yuanhang Consulting Company.It also analyses the business development status,enterprise capability and enterprise resources of Yuanhang Consulting Company,and combines the value chain analysis method to find the unique resources owned by the enterprise.Then,the SWOT analysis method is used to find the overall advantages and disadvantages of the company,so as to clarify the opportunities and challenges faced by the company.Furthermore,the BCG Matrix Analysis method is used to find the business development point of the company,so as to determine the strategic objectives of the company,and formulate the business development strategy of the company based on the vision of the enterprise.After formulating the business development strategy,the company needs the corresponding development ability to ensure the implementation of business strategy.This paper finds the implementation guarantee of the company's business development strategy from five aspects: marketing,human resources,production and research,brand promotion and financial investment.From the perspective of "development strategy",this paper provides some ideas for the further development of Yuanhang Consulting Company,and explores the development path of China's local management consulting company,especially smallscale management consulting company,which has certain reference significance for many small-scale consulting companies in China.
