Nowadays,electronic product manufacturing industry faces fierce competition and the market conditions are volatile.Inventory management makes an impact on company's cost,service quality and orders while occupies the use of its capital.Therefore,to strengthen the competitiveness of enterprises,we shall give high priority to inventory and an optimised and better management is necessary.Zhanjing Technology Co.,Ltd.,a manufacturer of electronic products,mainly engages in order production in its operation.Growing company and diverse market demands let the single and outdated inventory management model the company adopted behind its increasing varieties of materials,which causes inventory backlog,sluggish materials and a high inventory cost,making a serious influence on the company's operation.The top priority for the company is to improve the inventory management.This paper takes the inventory of Zhanjing Technology Co.,Ltd.as the research object to analyze its current inventory status and existing problems,including high inventory,sluggish materials,single inventory management methods,and inadequate classification and poor punctuality of raw materials.It also made an in-depth analysis on the causes and focused on optimizing the inventory management from three aspects in light of the company's actual situation.First,change the traditional production mode into lean and pull-type one to better control in-process product quality and reduce the defective products in the process,making the in-process product inventory among processes under control;secondly,built cooperative relationship with and strengthen management of suppliers by establishing VMI model,realizing inter-inventories information sharing and supply on demand and improving our service;and finally,make further classification on raw materials of inventories by binary matrix method and then apply corresponding procurement methods,realizing the control over raw materials.In this way,we could choose small butches procurement and continuous replenishment to meet production needs and to achieve an ultimate control over inventory.In general,through the in-depth study of the company's inventory management issues,this paper developed a comprehensive optimized inventory strategy guided by lean and inventory management theories and combining with the company's specific circumstances.While implementing this strategy,we enhanced the close cooperation among departments and built an improved information sharing system.In addition,we amended the internal assessment system,disposed sluggish materials timely and effectively,improved the ERP system and shaped the lean culture of the company,through which the strategy was able to be executed successfully.Only keep improving during implementation period can we finally reduce the inventory cost and realize an optimised inventory.
