Place attachment is an important subject in the study of humanistic geography.It is an emotional connection between tourists and tourist sites based on activities,experience and perception.With the coming of leisure time,it has become an indispensable activity in people’s life to travel to other places away from their usual residence.However,how to improve the quality of human interaction has not been paid enough attention.In recent years,wildlife tourism has been booming,and the country’s top ten national park trials have been a huge hit on wildlife tourism.In this paper,Chengdu research base of giant panda breeding was selected as the research object to study the place attachment characteristics of tourists in this scenic spot and provide guidance and reference for the development of this type of scenic spot.Firstly,on the basis of consulting and referring to a large number of relevant literature,this paper systematically sorts out and summarizes the domestic and foreign research achievements of place theory,place attachment and wildlife tourism.It also explains and defines the concepts of sense of place,place attachment and place identity.Secondly,on the basis of referring to the existing research results and combining with the characteristics of Chengdu research base of giant panda breeding,the measurement of place attachment is divided into four dimensions: natural landscape dimension,animal attraction dimension,tourism functional dimension and emotional attachment,and the questionnaire is designed.Thirdly,the questionnaire survey was conducted on tourists who had visited Chengdu panda base by using the designed measurement scale,and the questionnaire results were analyzed by using the software SPSS20.0.Frequency analysis,PCA,factor analysis,non-parametric test,Kruskal-wallis H test analysis and othermathematical statistical methods were used for data processing.The results showed that: 1.In general,most of the tourists are satisfied with the Chengdu panda breeding base and have high levels of attachment.2.Factor analysis of place attachment indicates that place attachment is composed of four dimensions: natural landscape dimension,animal attraction dimension,tourism functional dimension and emotional attachment.3.Demographically,apart from gender,age and monthly income,place attachment has significant differences in occupational status and highest educational level.4.In terms of tourists’ basic behaviors,there are significant differences in the length of stay and the number of visits of tourists in the tourist destination;Tourists’ familiarity with scenic spots,their understanding of star animals in scenic areas,and their satisfaction after recreation all significantly affect tourists’ place attachment level.5.Use Non-parametric test to analyze the inter-group differences in the four dimensions of local attachment,and it was found that the occupational status of tourists,their familiarity with scenic spots,their understanding of giant pandas and their tourism satisfaction had significant influences on the four dimensions.Finally,according to the research results,the planning Suggestions for Chengdu research base of giant panda breeding were put forward to improve the local attachment level of scenic spot tourists.This paper innovatively constructs a place attachment measurement model for wildlife tourism scenic spots,which is of great significance for wildlife tourism scenic spots like Chengdu giant panda breeding base to define the target market,carry out scientific planning and management,and improve the tourist experience quality of wildlife scenic spots.
