Since 2008,China’s income gap has been at a high level, which has not only caused widespread concern in the whole society, but also seriously affected all aspects of China’s economic development.Among them,as the main driving force of economic growth-technological innovation,it is particularly affected by the income gap.At present, there are various problems in the research on the relationship between income gap and technological innovation. The previous research directions are mostly based on the theory of “effective demand”,and the income gap is not taken into account by the key factor that human capital influences technological innovation..Therefore,in view of the previous research, this paper focuses on the impact of income gap on technological innovation from the perspective of human capital supply. In the first chapter of this paper,in the process of sorting out the previous theoretical literature on income gap and technological innovation, according to different research starting points, the literature is divided into three categories: the first category, based on the theory of economic growth;the second category, based on "effective The study of the theory of demand;the third category, based on the study of human capital theory. The second chapter combines the existing theoretical research and puts forward the progressive influence relationship between income gap, human capital and technological innovation: the expansion of income gap will lead to the widening of the difference between residents’ investment in human capital and the suppression of the formation of human capital. To deepen the imbalance of the distribution of human capital structure, and thus hinder technological innovation. After establishing this impact mechanism,Chapter 3 describes the current situation of China’s income gap, human capital and technological innovation. Then the fourth chapter starts with the data of various provinces and regions in China, and makes theoretical assumptions and empirical tests on the problems raised in the theoretical part.Empirical research results show that the income gap will affect technological innovation through the structural path of human capital. This is mainly reflected in three aspects:(1)New ideas exchange mechanism;(2)Technology and Labour matching mechanisms;(3)The impact of high-quality human capital on technological innovation; The income gap presents an inverted "U" type through the influence of human capital structure on technological innovation, which is mainly determined by the joint direction of the three effects. When the income level is low,the widening of the income gap is conducive to technological innovation; When the income level is high, the widening of the income gap is not conducive to technological innovation. On the other way that the income gap affects technological innovation--the level of human capital, the coefficient appears to have no significant impact, but the coefficient symbol is negative, indicating that the expansion of the income gap will reduce the level of human capital, and thus have an inhibitory effect on technological innovation.Chapter 5 puts forward some suggestions from the perspective of income gap and human capital.
