Design And Implementation Of Big Data Platform For Cold Chain Logistics

The rapid development of China's fresh food e-commerce business in recent years has brought enormous opportunities as well as challenges to the Cold Chain Logistics(CCL)industry.With the wide adaptation of Internet of Things(IoT),Cloud Computing and Big Data technology introduces new development momentum to CCL industry,the urgency and necessity of researching and implementing big data technology for CCL has emerged.Although conventional logistics had proofed the benefits of Big Data,the current business applications could not meet the varying demands of goods storage and delivering processes in CCL.In the distribution process of CCL,massive data come from IoT devices and require high efficient data processing and data storage methods.The effective project management to deliver big data system in CCL is the fuel to break bottleneck,optimize workflow,and improve the efficiency of business operation.This paper takes the big data system for the CCL industry of N city as case study,analyses and concludes two challenges faced by the CCL companies: the rapidly growing market and the massive data.It also summarizes the bottleneck of the incumbent business management system,and proposes a project management framework consists of strategic planning,architecture design and technical implementation-three phrases suitable for implementing big data technology in CCL.The outstanding advantages of big data technology in CCL in comparison with conventional database is deeply studied,including data populating,cleaning,storing and analysing of every chain in CCL,a proof of effective controlling all data in business processes is provided;a big data system based on Hadoop for the CCL provides API and can be seamlessly integrated with other business applications,it provides not only a powerful data warehouse for structured data and unstructured data,but also historical data supporting to business intelligent system.This paper studies the integrated management and implementation of big data project in CCL,and proposes a project management framework in accordance with business needs to help CCL adopt big data technology for addressing the challenges brought by the rapid growing market.
