Impact Of Transport Infrastructure On Manufacturing Industry Agglomeration In Sichuan Province

As an important transportation tool for people's life and enterprise production,traffic infrastructure has its special contribution to the development of the regional economy,and plays a key role in supporting the healthy operation of the society;The manufacturing industry directly embodies the productivity level of a country,which is an important factor to differentiate the developing and developed countries,Manufacturing industry occupies an important share in the national economy of the developed countries in the world.In recent years,there are many literatures about industrial agglomeration and transportation infrastructure,and the impact of transport infrastructure on economic growth has been more common in the past few decades,but the research on the impact of traffic infrastructure on different industries and different areas has been relatively small.Based on this article,this paper chooses the transportation infrastructure as the starting point,the manufacturing industry agglomeration as the research object,This paper takes Sichuan province as an example to study the influence of traffic infrastructure on manufacturing industry agglomeration,using the method of combining literature analysis with experience summarization,theory and demonstration to study the relationship between transportation infrastructure and manufacturing industry agglomeration in Sichuan province,and provides policy advice for Sichuan economic development and “China Manufacturing 2025” Sichuan Action plan.Based on the comprehensive analysis of domestic and foreign literatures,this paper analyzes the mechanism of traffic infrastructure on manufacturing industry agglomeration by combining the theory of location,new economic geography,industry agglomeration and diffusion.This paper combs the current situation of transportation infrastructure development in Sichuan Province,the present situation of manufacturing industry agglomeration and the important influence policy,finds out the measure index of traffic infrastructure and manufacturing industry agglomeration,and compares the development of transportation infrastructure and manufacturing agglomeration in Sichuan province and the cities and counties through the visualized measurement.This article uses 2007-2016 Sichuan Province panel data,takes the highway infrastructure as the Traffic infrastructure agency quantity,uses the manufacturing location entropy,the highway infrastructure density these two core variables,chooses the economic development level,the government intervention,the openness degree,the industry occupies the economic proportion,Urbanization level and other important factors affecting manufacturing industry agglomeration as a control variable,the regression model is established from the general angle of traffic(highway)infrastructure and the angle of different grade highways.Through empirical regression analysis of the impact of traffic infrastructure on manufacturing industry agglomeration,the study found that the location entropy of transportation infrastructure and manufacturing agglomeration in Sichuan province is consistent with the spatial distribution,and the transportation infrastructure of Sichuan Province has a significant effect on manufacturing industry agglomeration.With the increase of traffic infrastructure density,the degree of manufacturing industry agglomeration is further Improved.In addition,the degree of openness,the proportion of industry to the economy,and the urbanization level have positive effects on the industrial agglomeration of manufacturing industry,which indicates that the increase of the level of openness,the proportion of industry to the economy,and urbanization can promote the agglomeration of manufacturing industry while increasing the density of traffic infrastructure to promote the agglomeration of manufacturing industry.,the level of economic development and the influence of government intervention on manufacturing industry agglomeration is negative,which indicates that the level of economic development and the level of government intervention promote the diffusion of manufacturing industry.Based on the empirical results,this paper puts forward some relevant policy suggestions: reasonable investment in transportation infrastructure,increasing the investment of transportation infrastructure in less developed areas;According to regional manufacturing industry,differentiation improves traffic infrastructure density and quality;establishes a sound transportation network transportation system,strengthens traffic infrastructure operation quality management.
