A Study On IT Project Management In Medium And Small Enterprise Based On Agile Method

With the rise of the IT industry,the emergence of user needs,projects showing a rapid developing,fast-changing,high-complexity,low cost and high instability characteristics,thereby resulting in a large number of project delays,cost overruns and even failure.The situation now deeply troubles project managers,also brought a big challenge to the traditional method of project management.The current development of IT projects also makes higher requirements for project teams.We need to be more active in responding to the demands,more flexible in organizing activities,and more quickly in dealing with the changes of the markets,customers,technology or project members.Agile methods,originated from the field of software development,is therefore been introduced to project management,and becomes a new project management theory.Agile project management through self-management,rapid iterations,frequent delivery,can effectively solve the problem of those dynamic and constantly changing conflict.This paper argues that agile project management approach is an effective means to resolve the current difficulties of SMEs IT project management.In this paper,the current situation of IT projects management in SMEs,especially some of the common difficulties in IT projects management,were discussed.Then the basic concepts of Agile Project Management were introduced,after which the application of the Agile Management Methods were discussed,finally,the real practice of Agile Management were analyzed and summarized.In order to provide some guidance and reference for the managers of SMEs IT projects,who is interested in using agile project management methodologies.
