Research On The Construction Path Of Technology Capability Of Enterprise Embedded In Global Value Chain

The reform and opening up policy has enabled Chinese enterprises to embeded successfully in the global value chain by the price advantage.However,due to the harsher domestic environmental governance and the higher cost of labor,Chinese enterprises is gradually losing its advantages in the international market.And because of the lack of technology,Chinese companies are firmly locked in the low end of the GVC.Therefore,how to make full use of the opportunities embedded in the global value chain,and gradually build the technical capabilities of enterprises to help enterprises get rid of the low-end embedded predicament in GVC has become an important issue faced by many enterprises.Case studies can help us to conduct in-depth and meticulous research on a certain type of phenomenon.CIMC Group has grown from a small container factory to an influential international company.Its history is the epitome of the development of Chinese enterprises in the global value chain.Therefore,this study selects CIMC as a typical case to conduct in-depth longitudinal research.The embedding situation of the company is divided into four stages,which is explored respectively on the issue of how the company has built the corresponding knowledge network by means of the opportunities brought by embedding the global value chain,and realize the technological capability development of the enterprise at different stages.The conclusions are as follows:(1)The activities of enterprises in the global value chain are divided into three development stages,namely,the deep embedding of a single value chain,the attempt to embed a new value chain,and the full embedding of multiple value chains,and this development is driven by survival and are driven by different dynamic mechanisms.(2)The three upgrading states of enterprises in GVC activities correspond to three different knowledge networks: weak knowledge networks,innovation networks,innovative small world networks,and each knowledge network has its own characteristics.(3)The construction of technical capabilities of enterprises participating in GVC activities involves two aspects: R&D design and manufacturing on the chain.In addition to advanced technical knowledge,focusing on the updating and optimization of production processes is another powerful support of enterprise technology capabilities in GVC activities.Support point.
