Global Manufacturing Network Enterprise It Capabilities For Knowledge Acquisition Research

Manufacturing industry is the base of Chinese economy.In the past two decades, the rising trend of Chinese manufacturing industry has been greatly relying on the industry globalization.With the push of globalization,a fire-new organization——the Global Production Networks(GPN)has come into being.GPN is an innovation of organization structure and enlarges the border of traditional production system.Though GPN,the global production flagship(GPF)derives its strength from its control over critical resources and from its capacity to coordinate transactions and knowledge exchange between the different network nodes.At the same time,there is an open window for developing countries to learn and grow from GPN.It's a good era of opportunity.In the globalization process,Chinese manufacturing firm faces much questions,for example,production nuclear technology lacking,firm performance low,information exchange sluggishly with the associate firms and so on.Many Chinese manufacturing firms have been on the low node of the GPN and hardly improved firm competition ability all along as a result of these questions,thereby these firms hardly gets more profit.With the accelerating development and abroad application of Information Technology(IT),the management circumstance of manufacturing firms,especially traditional manufacturing firms,has changed.The important effect of IT has get more and more greatly recognition.Can IT help Chinese manufacturing firms to acquire more knowledge in the GPN? Which factors play more important action in the process of acquiring knowledge from GPF? They are worth while our researching.Based on the relevant research of firm IT and knowledge acquired,we put forward the conceptual framework of firm IT positively influencing Potential absorptive capacity and further the effect of knowledge acquired enhancement.Then we apply the factor analysis and multiple regression analysis of the datas collected from 107manufacturing companies in China to test and analyze the conceptual framework. After the qualitative and quantitative analysis,we come to the following conclusions:(1)In the Global Production Networks(GPN),the level of IT infrastructure,human IT resources and IT-enabled intangibles positively and significantly influence the enterprise knowledge acquired from international flap companies.(2)In the Global Production Networks(GPN),the Potential absorptive capacity of local companies has mediating effect on the relationship between IT and Knowledge acquired by local companies from international flag companies.(3)In the Global Production Networks(GPN),the Corporate Social Capital of local companies has moderates effect on the relationship between Potential absorptive capacity of local companies and Knowledge acquired by local companies from Global productiOll networks(GPN);Information technology capacity; absorptive capacity;Knowledge acquisition;Corporate Social Capital...
