A Study On DL Company's MTO-MTS Combined Production Model

DL Company is the leader of logistics automated transportation sorting industry,engaged in the research and development,design,sales and related services of technical products in the field of transportation sorting.DL has the largest market share in Asia.However,under the impact of emerging competitors,DL's market share continues to decline.DL's products,based on the actual number of years,according to the market demand of DL company has obvious cyclical fluctuation,and there was difference between busy season and off season.Over the past few years,DL has followed a single MTO model and has scheduled production only after orders have been received.This thesis studies how DL company change production strategies from single make to order(MTO),to make to order and make to stock combined model(MTS-MTO)according to company strategy and market order characteristics,in order to balance monthly production,improve off season production efficiency,and improve on time delivery rate during peak season.In order to successfully run the new MTS-MTO model,DL Company had to change the main production process,reassemble the assembly and package workshop layout,and redesign the relevant modules in the ERP system.In the process of establishing the MTS-MTO combined production mode scheme,this thesis elaborates through the quantitative prediction and innovative use of mathematical models.After implementing the combined production model,by comparing the company's productivity and on time delivery rates with the past few years,it can be concluded that both key performance indicators have improved significantly.
