Tourism transportation is not only the link and bridge for tourists to realize their travel from their dwelling places to the tourist destinations, but also the basis and vital prerequisite for the development of tourism. At the same time, the development and growth of tourism act a definite role in promoting the development of transportation. The time during the travel itinerary and the cost of tourism and transportation will greatly affect the development of transportation.Only when the development level of tourism and transportation achieve a coordinated state can urban tourism achieve the sustainable development. The quantitative evaluation on the coordination relationship of development level of regional transportation and tourism is an essential tool to measure the development status, which boasts a vital guiding function for the healthy development of regional tourism.Based on this, the Coupling Coordination Degree Model and the Gray Correlation Method are introduced, and the traffic and tourism evaluation index system is constructed to quantitatively study the coordination relationship between the development level of transportation and tourism in Xining City from 2008 to 2017.The Entropy Method is applied to determine the importance of weight analysis and indicator selection in this paper, and the Pearson Correlation Coefficient Analysis Method is used to make a horizontal correlation analysis and test the correlation between the two systems.Furthermore,Coupling Coordination Degree Model and Gray Correlation Analysis Method are used to empirically analyze the coordination relationship of the development level of transportation and tourism in Xining City, and make systematic conclusions and objective evaluations. This study can provide a definite reference for rationally handling the coordination relationship between the development of transportation and tourism in Xining City. The main conclusions of this paper are as following:(1)The comprehensive development of transportation and tourism in Xining City has shown a trend of rapid increase year by year, which indicates that the development of transportation and tourism in Xining City has achieved certain achievements from 2008 to 2017,and each respective development strengths are increasing year by year and boasts a development trend.(2)The coupling and development degree of transportation and tourism development in Xining City is increasing year by year, which indicates that the coordination level of the development changes year by year and shows a increasing trend year by year. The development of the two systems promotes and restricts each other, which can be regarded as a community of destiny in process of development.In2017,it reached a level of coordination of quality and coordinated development.(3)The development model of the coupling degree of transportation and tourism in Xining City developed from moderate to high quality coordination from 2008 to2017.The interaction between the two systems is obvious, and the internal mechanism is continuously strengthened. The development modes are mainly manifested in two ways: the lagging pattern of tourism development and the lagging mode of transportation development.Alternate changes act a mutually reinforcing role in the two development models.(4)The correlation degree between the transportation subsystem of Xining City and the sub-sector of tourism industry is at a high level of correlation. The access level of public transportation network has the highest correlation with the subsystems of the tourism industry, and the impact is the most prominent. Finally, the corresponding suggestions for a better development of transportation and tourism in Xining City are put forward based on the research in this paper.
