| Green development and poverty reduction are considered to be the important challenges of advancing the progress of world civilization.The government also attaches great importance to green development and poverty reduction.Whether green development can reduce poverty is a subject which is worth to exploring.Based on the threshold effect and spatial spillover effect,this paper studies the poverty reduction effect of China's green development.Based on the analysis of the mechanism of green development affecting poverty reduction,it further conducts empirical tests and proposes targeted policy implications.The study found that: First,provincial green development has increased the amount of livelihood capital actually owned by local residents,but the ability of poor people to obtain livelihood capital is limited by policy constraints,which will slow down the poverty reduction effect of green development.Second,regions with higher levels of green development are concentrated in the eastern region,and the optimal regions for green development have path dependence.Third,the impact of green development on poverty reduction has double threshold.With the increase in government support,green development and regional poverty level have shown a positive correlation,and the correlation is getting weaker.Fourth,there is a spatial spillover effect on the impact of green development on poverty alleviation,and spatial distribution is uneven.The economic development gap,the difference in education level,the imbalance of policy support and the urbanization gap in adjacent areas will inhibit regional poverty reduction.Therefore,it is necessary to explore the relationship between green development and poverty alleviation,and construct a reasonable green development and poverty reduction assessment system,increase the coverage and inclination of government support in poverty-stricken areas,and focus on narrowing regional development differences and promoting regional coordinated development. |
