The income of peasants is closely related to the development of agriculture and the improvement of rural economy, after the reform and opening-up,China’s economic development is in a good state, especially in agriculture, and people’s living standards have also been greatly improved, however, there are still many problems hindeing the modernization of our country, such as widening income gap between urban and rural residents, increasing grain output, and slowing growth of farmers’ income. The issue of farmers’ income is the core and key to the issue of“agriculture, countryside and farmers”.It is also an important part of promoting the sustained and healthy development of China’s national economy, social harmony and stability. This article takes Hubei Province as the main research scope, first briefly introducing the overall status of China’s peasant income and peasants’ income in different regions, and then focusing on the analysis of the status quo, changes in trends, and structural characteristics of Hubei Province. The actual situation in the province has theoretically analyzed the factors that may affect the income of farmers in Hubei Province, mainly including six aspects, the output value of the primary industry, the level of urbanization, the yield per unit area of food crops, the average area of cultivated land, the fixed assets of agriculture, and the non-agricultural industry employees. At the same time, based on the theoretical analysis, the influencing factors are empirically studied. The VAR model,Granger causality test, impulse response function and variance decomposition method are used to further explore the impact of various factors on Hubei farmers’ income and the relevant conclusions are reached. In order to promote farmers’ income more specifically, the paper proposes corresponding countermeasures based on the research results, mainly about adjusting the industrial structure, vigorously developing high-quality agriculture, and promoting the development of agricultural industrialization;promoting the level of urbanization, accelerating the transfer of surplus rural labor, and facilitating the growth of farmers’ wage income;selecting suitable development direction of agriculture and animal husbandry according to local conditions and promoting the development of green food industry;protecting cultivated land, and formulating reasonable land policies to clarify farmers’ contracted land rights and rational use of land;increasing support for agriculture,as well as investment in agricultural infrastructure, improving farmers’ production conditions, absorbing more rural labor force, promoting non-agriculturalization of labor employment structure, enhancing rural laborer’s technological and cultural quality, increasing productivity and modernization level, increasing non-agricultural value.Through the above measures, farmers’ income will be increased and the gap between urban and rural areas will be further reduced. |
