Research On The Coupling Relationship And Spatial-temporal Evolution Between Industrial Agglomeration And Urban Spatial Pattern

After the 1990 s,a large number of small and medium-sized enterprise clusters appeared in China’s coastal areas-various development zones and industrial parks.Since then,industrial agglomeration research has attracted great attention from domestic scholars.It is undeniable that the concentration of industry has greatly promoted the development of regional economy and the expansion of urban space and the improvement of urban construction.However,due to the emphasis and development of heavy industry in China during the planned economy period,there has been a serious uncoordinated problem between industrial development and urban development,mainly because urban development lags behind industrial development and is strictly controlled by the urban and rural household registration system.This has caused problems such as the irrational internal structure of the industry and the serious dual structure of urban and rural areas,and has also greatly affected the rationalization of urban and regional industrial development in China.Then,after experiencing the long-term development stage of the decline of urban and industrial prosperity,how can we achieve the coordinated development of industry and town? To answer this question,we must explore the coupling relationship between industrial agglomeration and urban development.This paper studies the relationship between industrial agglomeration and urban spatial pattern from the perspective of spatial-temporal evolution,and uses this as a starting point to explore the coupling and evolution mechanism of industrial agglomeration and urban spatial pattern.This article studies the regional industrial agglomeration and the evolution of urban spatial pattern since the 1990 s in the Yangtze River Delta region,and explores its evolution law,influencing factors and spatial characteristics,thus providing science for the integration and optimization of urban spatial structure and development strategy in the Yangtze River Delta region,and finally realize the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.First of all,based on the existing research literatures of industrial agglomeration and urban spatial pattern,this paper finds that there is a close relationship between industrial agglomeration and urban spatial pattern change in a certain region.Then,by studying the related theories of industrial agglomeration and urban spatial pattern,the paper analyzes and summarizes the coupling mechanism between industrial agglomeration and urban spatial pattern.Subsequently,this paper aims at the coupling relationship between the two and spatial-temporal evolution,builds a comprehensive evaluation index of regional industrial agglomeration and urban spatial pattern evolution.By using the statistical data of 16 cities in the Yangtze River Delta region from 1990 to 2017,and based on the panel regression model and the spatial center of gravity model,the co-evolution relationship between the industry and the urban system and the law of space-time evolution are explored.The results show that there is a significant coupling relationship between industrial agglomeration and urban spatial pattern in the Yangtze River Delta region.And industrial agglomeration plays a role in promoting urban spatial expansion,while urban spatial pattern has a stronger influence on industrial agglomeration.On the whole,the degree of coupling coordination and spatial matching between the cities in the Yangtze River Delta region has steadily increased,but thedegree of coupling and coordination development of cities in the Yangtze River Delta region is not balanced.The coupling and coordinated development of towns in the southern part of the Yangtze River Delta is slightly weaker than that in the northern part of the Yangtze River Delta.In the development of the past three decades,the industrial clustering and urbancoordinated coordination relationship in the Yangtze River Delta region has gradually shifted from the initial Shanghai-centered single polarization to the multi-polarization and flat development centered on Shanghai,Nanjing,Suzhou and Hangzhou.The northern part of the Yangtze River Delta gradually formed a coupling and coordinated development area with Shanghai-Suxichang-Nanjing as the axis.Driven by this axis,the coupling coordination degree of the adjacent areas is also increasing year by year.The coupling coordination of the entire Yangtze River Delta region shows a "Z" shape development trend,and the coupling and coordination level of the Yangtze River Delta region has made great progress.
