| As a traditional leading industry, the development of agriculture is related to the fundamental lifeline of a country’s economy. As the largest developing country with a strong agricultural foundation,China has made use of its comparative advantages to promote the rapid development of agricultural trade. With the advance of the "One Belt And One Road" initiative, agricultural products trade between China and countries along the belt and road becomes more and more frequent. As the core region of the "silk road" economic belt, the central Asian economic belt has a broad prospect for the development of its domestic agricultural product market. Therefore,it is necessary to conduct an in-depth study on the trade situation of agricultural products between China and the five central Asian countries as well as the competitiveness and complementarity of agricultural products, which is conducive to the policy adjustment of China’s agricultural products trade with the five central Asian countries, promoting the complementary advantages of agricultural products trade and achieving a win-win situation. This paper first expounds the research background and significance of this topic, then analyzes the reality of China’s cross-border trade in agricultural products, and then sorts out the current situation and relationship of agricultural products trade between China and five central Asian countries from the perspectives of natural resource endowment of agricultural development and development of bilateral agricultural trade. In terms of quantitative analysis, the competitiveness of bilateral agricultural trade is analyzed through the establishment of trade competitive advantage index(TC)and explicit comparative advantage index(RCA).Among the agricultural products of the five central Asian countries, cotton has a higher competitiveness than that of China and a strong competitive advantage in agricultural trade.Through the analysis of the complementarity of bilateral agricultural trade by using TCI and G-L,it is found that most agricultural trade between China and the five central Asian countries is highly complementary, and most agricultural trade between China and the five central Asian countries is dominated by inter-industrial trade. Finally, based on the above research results and the "One Belt And One Road" initiative, this paper puts forward policy Suggestions on developing agricultural trade between China and five central Asian countries from a win-win perspective. |
