The development of economy,the urbanization and industrialization have made a great achievement recently.But at the same time these progresses also cause many serious problems,such as the imbalance of spatial structure,the disorder of land development and the excessive use of resources,the destruction of ecological environment and so on.The production space,living space and ecology space(referred to as the P-L-E space),as the constituent parts of national space,are on the situation of mutual influence.The contradictions between them will have a direct impact on the development quality of urbanization and the sustainable development strategy.How to achieve coordinated development of the P-L-E space and ease the contradictions is an urgent problems.In order to realize the sustainable development of the P-L-E space,the report of the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China put forward the principle that optimizing the land and space development pattern of our country should be based on the balance between the economic,social and ecological benefit,as well as the balance between population and environment.Then the overall requirement of the coordinated development of the P-L-E space has been proposed.Therefore,in this context,there is theoretical and practical significance to measure the quality and the coupling coordination degree of the P-L-E space and analyze the spatial-temporal differences.Firstly,this paper studies the relevant theories and contents of the P-L-E space,defines the concept and connotation of the P-L-E space and the evaluation of the P-L-E space utilization quality,and analyzes the influencing factors of the P-L-E space utilization quality.This paper also establishes the evaluation idea of the P-L-E space utilization quality.Coupling relationship between the P-L-E space is analyzed from the perspective of system coupling theory,which is the basis of the formation of analysis framework.On the basis of this theoretical analysis,the evaluation index system of the evaluation index of the P-L-E space coupling coordination degree is established from the three aspects of production space,living space and ecology space.The entropy method and the coefficient of variation method are employed to determine the index weight.The coordination degree model is used to evaluate coupling coordination degree.The spatial-temporal differences are analyzed by the method of ESDA.This paper takes 13 prefecture-level cities in Jiangsu Province as an example.The main results of this research were:(1)In the study period,the utilization quality of the P-L-E space of each prefecture-level cities in Jiangsu Province showed a trend of improvement.The distribution patter was that the utilization quality decreased from south to north,which presented a gradient distribution pattern.Each subspace had the similar trend that the whole showed a trend of growth,although there was fluctuation(2)The overall coordination level of the P-L-E space of the prefecture-level cities in Jiangsu Province was relatively low,and the development presented a stable trend of growth.The coordination and coordination level was dominated by primary coordination and intermediate coordination.During the study period of the 2005-2004,the coordination level of most cities had changed from primary coordination to intermediate coordination.Only five cities remained in the stage of primary coordination.From the view of timing change,the coordination level of the P-L-E space of Jiangsu Province was in rising and improved state.Suzhou had the highest growth rate with an increase of 0.133 among 13 prefecture-level cities.(3)From the analysis of spatial differences,by the analysis of the global spatial autocorrelation,there was a significant spatial correlation between the P-L-E space coupling coordination degree in Jiangsu Province,which meant that areas with high(or low)coordination level had an obvious clustering feature in space,and had a high degree of spatial differentiation.By the analysis of the local spatial autocorrelation,there was a spatial patter that cities with high(or low)coupling coordination gathered to that cities with high(or low)coupling coordination.The areas with high coordination level had formed an o'bvious synergistic and radiation effect.(4)This paper provides specific modes for different type cities to improve the P-L-E space coupling coordination degree,including the ecology priority-production follow-up type,urbanization type,space linkage type and ecological penetration type.Finally,this paper provides suggestions for the improvement of utilization of the P-L-E space as well as each subspaces.The production space should adhere to changing the mode of economic development and achieving the optimization and upgrading of industrial structure.The living space should be improved from the development of new urbanization,improving the income of residents,living convenience and the social security system and other aspects.Establishing a sound legal system,enhancing the environmental awareness of enterprises and citizens should be implemented to improve the utilization quality of ecology space.In addition,in terms of improving the P-L-E space coupling coordination degree,suggestions are put forward from the views of the correct understanding of the relationship between the P-L-E space,innovation of cross-regional mechanisms of the P-L-E space coordinated development and the improvement of the government's performance evaluation system.
