In the context of the current gradual decline in China's economic growth,there is an urgent need to find new kinetic energy that will promote stable and sustained economic growth.As we all know,entrepreneurship can drive economic growth by promoting innovation,promoting technological progress,and providing jobs.However,in the traditional Chinese human society,the relationship network is embedded in all aspects of economic society,and the construction and rational use of the relationship network has become an important factor affecting individual entrepreneurial choice.This paper divides the relationship network into three types:family relationship,business relationship and political relationship.It also conducts empirical research using data from CGSS and Wind.It is found that different relationship networks have different effects on individual entrepreneurial choices.Specifically,this paper first divides the research sample into two groups of entrepreneurial and non-entrepreneurial,and then examines in general how their relationship network affects their choice of starting or not starting a business.It is found that the family relationship network can increase the probability of individuals starting a business,but its significance is unstable;the business relationship network can significantly increase the probability of individuals undertaking entrepreneurship;the political relationship network can significantly reduce the probability of individuals undertaking entrepreneurship;After the estimation and robustness test,the above conclusions have not changed.Further,this paper distinguishes the research samples according to the type of entrepreneurship(opportunistic type vs survival type),and then examines how their different networks affect their entrepreneurial types.It turns out that the family relationship network can significantly improve the probability of individuals undert:aking opportunity-based entrepreneurship,but the promotion effect of individual survival-based entrepreneurship is not significant;the business relationship network can significantly enhance the probability of individuals undertaking opportunity-based entrepreneurship,and can also significantly enhance the probability of individuals undertaking survival-based entrepreneurship,but compared with survival-based entrepreneurship,the business relationship network has a greater role in promoting the opportunity-based entrepreneurship of individuals;the political relationship network can significantly reduce the probability of individuals undertaking opportunity-based entrepreneurship,and can also significantly reduce the probability of individuals undertaking survival-based entrepreneurship,but compared to opportunistic entrepreneurship,the political relationship network has a greater role in reducing the survival-based entrepreneurship of individuals.The results of this paper suggest that in order to promote entrepreneurship during the current transition period,the government should reduce administrative interventions on economic activities,improve the way the government allocates resources,expand entrepreneurs' financing channels,improve various formal systems,and regulate market competition.
