Research On Community Participation From The Perspective Of Rights And Interests

As for tourism development,community participation is more than an advocate of interests or a manifestation of rights at this stage.Communities and residents are not only viewed as a tourism resource,but also as objects of gaze,appreciation and communication based on the position of tourists.What's more,community participation has attracted much attention as a sustainable way of tourism development.Therefore,safeguarding the interests of community residents and establishing a charismatic right mechanism is the focus of current tourism development and construction.However,in reality,the situation of community participation is not optimistic.Most of them are placed in an irrelevant position,and have no right to participate in tourism development.Such cases are extremely common,and there were few successful models.This research mainly uses qualitative research methods to obtain analytical data through field investigations,trying to establish a model case of successful participation,exploring the reasons,and providing a reference for community participation in rural areas.The main contents of this paper are as follows:The first part is the introduction.Through the analysis and review of relevant domestic and foreign literatures,as well as the definition of relevant concepts and theoretical foundations,this paper establishes the topic of community participation in tourism research led by the perspective of rights and interests.The second part is the case study,which is the key point of the researching on this paper.This thesis takes muyu area in shennongjia forest region as an example to carry out.Firstly,it analyzes the basic situation of the area and the current situation of tourism development and community participation,as well as discusses the main level relationship of tourism stakeholders which is affecting community participation,and describes the ways and characteristics of community residents'participation.Secondly,grounded theory analysis is conducted to explore the reasons for successful community participation in rural vacation tourism.Furthermore,three main categories,namely community competence,stakeholder driving force and participation influence,are developed through the three-level coding.And the interaction mechanism of community competence and community participation,stakeholder-driven community participation mechanism and community participation influence mechanism are constructed in turn.After that,this part confirms the rationality of the three core categories by selective coding,and clarifies three story lines,that is the self-increase of tourism power is the internal logic of community participation,and the external empower from outside is the external driving force of community participation,while there is a circular interaction relationship between community participation and tourism power acquisition.Finally,the logical framework of community participation in rural vacation tourism is constructed,which leads to the thinking of inadequate community participation in the development of ecotourism.The third part is the conclusion,innovation and prospect of this research.Through the analysis of this article,it finds that:First,the article argues that the community's participation is mainly due to the community's own ability,including developing better courtyard tourism economy,keeping stronger block tourism economy,and building deeper cultural economy.It is an inexorable trend to realize empower by its own capacity.Therefore,empowerment may not always be externally endowed,and often comes from its own strength.Second,the paper considers that stakeholders play a role in promoting community participation,especially the community identity of vacation tourists contribute to expand community and promote the process of community participation.Consequently,the community should be open to the outside world and absorb other forces to strengthen itself.Third,the paper holds that leisure and holiday tourism is conducive to community participation.Vacation tourism expands the space for community participation.Fourth,the article believes that it should form a system and establish a consultation mechanism for community participation.Stakeholders should decide on tourism development in their region through consultations in accordance with the charter.The possible innovation of this paper is concern about the residential attributes of tourists,and then enter the pattern of stakeholders to promote the study of community participation.The main shortcomings are that the interviewees mainly select the people involved in tourism,including some residents,while ignoring a small number of non-participating groups.Case selection failed to break through the study of rural community participation in tourism,and has not been extended to other types of tourism.In addition,the research methods mainly rely on qualitative research,and lack of combination with quantitative research.Therefore,the future prospects lie in the innovation of case selection and the combination of research methods.
