Since the reform and opening up,China's manufacturing industry has developed rapidly and established a complete industrial layout system, which has promoted the urban modernization development and the optimization of regional economic spatial layout, especially in reshaping the urban economic spatial structure, accompanied by the deepening and transformation of labor force, resource utilization and scientific and technological informatization. At the intersection of a new round of scientific and technological revolution and industrial transformation,it is an important content to study the spatial pattern characteristics and formation mechanism of urban manufacturing industry, which is of great significance to promote the development of regional manufacturing industry, optimize the rational layout of manufacturing industry and industrial economic structure. In this paper, the POI point data of manufacturing enterprises were used to make a quantitative analysis of the evolution characteristics of the spatial pattern of the manufacturing industry in the main urban area of lanzhou city by using ArcGIS spatial analysis method, and the influencing factors of the evolution of the spatial pattern of the manufacturing industry were analyzed by using the econometric model from three aspects of factor input, location transportation and policy planning. In order to provide a scientific reference for the optimal layout of manufacturing space in the main urban area of lanzhou. The following conclusions are drawn:(1)Evolution characteristics of spatial distribution of manufacturing industry: from 2008 to 2017,the total number of manufacturing enterprises in lanzhou decreased, but the change range was not large. The general characteristics of spatial distribution were from relative dispersion to centralization. The manufacturing enterprises in the main urban areas in the east and west have spread to the suburbs, while the manufacturing enterprises in the main urban areas in the middle have decreased in total volume, and the number of enterprises in the urban core has decreased significantly. From the evolution characteristics of the distribution of different industries: the number of labor-intensive manufacturing industry has little change, and the spatial distribution tends to spread to the main cities in the east; The spatial distribution of resource-intensive manufacturing industry shows a trend of spreading to the main urban area in the west and migrating to the south bank of the Yellow River near the main urban area in the east. The capital and technology intensive manufacturing industry has a dual pattern of centralization and diffusion from the center to the periphery.(2)Evolution characteristics of spatial agglomeration of manufacturing industry: from 2008 to 2017,Moran's I index decreased, indicating that the degree of spatial agglomeration of manufacturing enterprises in the main urban area of lanzhou decreased. In the main urban area, the evolution of manufacturing enterprises from multi-center hot spots to single-center clusters is more obvious.Seen from the evolution characteristics of cluster of different industries, the evolution rule of labor-intensive manufacturing industry as a whole is that the cluster intensity of manufacturing enterprises in the main urban area in the east is gradually higher than that in the main urban area in the west, and the cluster intensity is continuously strengthened over time. The agglomeration intensity of resource-intensive manufacturing enterprises is continuously increasing, while the outward migration trend of resource-intensive manufacturing industry in the central urban area is still continuously strengthening, and the patchy distribution of urban fringe is the main pattern of spatial agglomeration of this type of manufacturing industry. The dual-center structure of hot spots of capital and technology-intensive manufacturing industry still remains unchanged, but the location of the central cluster area has partially shifted.(3)Factors influencing the evolution of spatial pattern of manufacturing industry: through model construction and analysis,it is concluded that the spatial pattern of manufacturing industry is affected by factors of factor input, location, transportation and policy planning. In terms of factor input factors, the regression coefficient of land price factors began to decline, and manufacturing enterprises began to consider the impact of land price on the production site of enterprises in terms of spatial location selection, and gradually chose areas with low land price for layout. In terms of location traffic factor, the regression coefficient of each variable decreases, and the effect intensity of this factor gradually decreases. In terms of policy planning factors, whether there is a development zone or industrial park and whether it is a central area of urban planning also have an important impact on the spatial pattern of manufacturing industry. After analyzing the influencing factors of manufacturing industry in different industries,it is found that capital-technology-intensive manufacturing industry is highly dependent on factor input. In terms of location and transportation,labor-intensive and resource-intensive manufacturing industries are more distributed in the regions farther away from the downtown, while capital-technology-intensive manufacturing enterprises tend to be distributed in the regions closer to the downtown.Labor-intensive and resource-intensive manufacturing still relies to some extent on transportation factors such as railways and highways. In terms of policy planning,labor-intensive and capital-intensive manufacturing enterprises are more inclined to cluster in development zones or industrial parks, and the layout of resource-intensive manufacturing industries is far away from the central region of urban planning.
