A Research On The Comparative Advantage Of The Trade Between Northwest China And Five Central Asian Countries

Central Asia,located at the junction of Asia and Europe,is a very important transportation hub on the Eurasian continent,through which the ancient Silk Road also passes.China and Central Asia are not only friendly neighbors,but also important strategic partners.Their economic and trade exchanges have a long history.The opening up of the ancient Silk Road not only promoted the cultural exchanges between the East and the West,but also pushed the commercial and trade cooperation between China and Central Asia to a peak.Nowadays,the strategy of "Silk Road Economic Belt" has not only injected new vitality into the trade between the East and the West,but also provided new development opportunities for Northwest China.China's northwest region is adjacent to Central Asia and is an important trade partner of Central Asia in China.In 2016,the total trade volume between Northwest China and Central Asia accounted for 64.26% of the total trade volume between China and Central Asia.At the same time,Central Asia is also an important trade partner in Northwest China.It plays an important role in Northwest China's foreign trade.In2016,the total trade between Northwest China and Central Asia accounted for about one third of the total foreign trade in Northwest China.Analyzing the comparative advantages of trade between Northwest China and Central Asia is of great significance to the trade development of both sides.Firstly,through the analysis of the current situation and characteristics of trade,it is found that the total trade volume of the Northwest China to the Central Asian countries is on the rise as a whole.Kazakhstan is the largest trade partner of the Northwest China in Central Asia,while the first trade partner of Central Asia in the five Northwest provinces is Xinjiang Autonomous Region,and the second largest trade partner is Gansu Province.Secondly,analyzing the comparative advantages of display and relative trade in the context of global trade.It is found that the comparative advantages of Northwest China and Central Asia in foreign trade are81-other base metals,cermets and their products,79-zinc and their products,respectively.Among them,the category of dominant commodities in Northwest China is much more than that in Central Asia,and most of them also have comparativeadvantages compared with Central Asia.Thirdly,by comparing the regional advantages of each region in trade with Central Asia,it is found that Northwest China has strong regional advantages,and the regional advantages of Northwest China are mainly embodied in Xinjiang Autonomous Region,while the regional advantages of Northwest China in non-metallic mining and mineral processing industry are mainly embodied in Gansu Province,and the regional advantages of forestry are mainly embodied in Qinghai Province.Finally,on the basis of previous studies,some feasible policy suggestions are put forward for the economic and trade cooperation between Northwest China and Central Asia.
