Researches On The Sustainable Development Of Farmhouse Tourism In Xishan Of Suzhou City

Because of the rapid development of local economy and the continuous improvement of people's living standards,sightseeing tourism has become an important leisure way for people.At the same time,the adjustment of agricultural structure requires the development of various functions of agricultural industry.All these factors have injected new vigor and vitality into the development of modern agriculture and countryside.In this study,the development characteristics of farmhouse tourism was analyzed on the basis of summarizing the general situation of resources,the present situation and types of farmhouse tourism in Xishan of Suzhou City.The advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and threats of Xishan farmhouse tourism were investigated from both inside and outside by SWOT model.In addition,the crucial strategies for sustainable development of Xishan farmhouse tourism were put forward,and suggestions and inspirations were also proposed integrating its realities and successful experiences.The statistical results showed that there are 353 farmhouses(residential accommodations)in Xishan of Suzhou City,including 7 national agricultural tourism demonstration sites and 2 provincial self-driving travelling bases.There are various types of farmhouse tourism,forming farmhouse gathering areas such as ancient villages,tourist attractions,one product in one village,residences around Taihu Road.The main characteristics are as follow:firstly,the momentum of development is swift and violent,and the scale of industry has begun to take shape;secondly,investors are gradually pluralistic and business development are diversified;thirdly,employment income of farmers are prompted relying on the development of agricultural tourism industry.The advantages,disadvantages,opportunities and threats of Xishan farmhouse tourism development was analyzed with SWOT model.From its own internal point of view,its advantages are mainly embodied in the superior regional conditions,obvious resource characteristics,superior combination conditions,vast tourists market,sustained government attention and so on,while its disadvantages mainly include the restriction of realistic policy resources,shortage of reasonable scientific planning,lack of scientific management,low grade and incomplete function,deficiency of distinct characteristics and flavor and so forth.From its external environment,although the rapid development of rural tourism,the strengthening of regional tourism cooperation,the increasinginterest of short-distance travel,and the driving force of the surrounding areas have positive significance for the development of Xishan farmhouse tourism,it is still threatened by fierce regional competition and insufficient tourism characteristics.Based on the above research findings,the main strategies for sustainable development of Suzhou Xishan farmhouse tourism were put forward,that is,to adapt to local conditions and plan scientifically,to protect the environment and develop rationally,to pay attention to characteristics and combine agriculture with tourism,to improve management and standardize development,to enhance leadership and strengthen propaganda.The research results can provide some theoretical and practical significance for the healthy development of Suzhou Xishan farmhouse tourism.
