Since Since the reform and opening up,the rapid economic development of the Pearl River Delta region is not only the frontier for China's opening to the outside world, but also the most economically viable region in China. It has now developed into the second largest urban agglomeration in China. However,in the northern part of Guangdong, which is close to the Pearl River Delta, the level of economic development is relatively backward, and the economic gap with the Pearl River Delta region is very large. This is not only unfavorable to the coordinated development of the region, but it is also not conducive to the achievement of the goal of building a well-off society in an all-round way.It is also not conducive to social equality and people's longing for a better life. The economic differences between the PRD and northern Guangdong are more reflected in industrial differences. This article focuses on the aspects of industrial structure and analyzes the differences in the industrial structure between the Pearl River Delta and northern Guangdong, and analyzes them from three aspects, namely, the proportion of industrial structure, the internal differences in industrial structure, and the differences in the evolution of industrial structure.Through the combination of theory and practice,a combination of quantitative and qualitative analysis of the problems in the industrial structure and industrial development, and proposed to strengthen the industrial cooperation between the Pearl River Delta and northern Guangdong. Then the feasibility of the industrial cooperation between the PRD and the northern part of Guangdong and the existing cooperation model were analyzed to explore a more favorable industrial cooperation path for the development of the two places.Through the study of this paper, the following conclusions are drawn: First, the industrial structure of the Pearl River Delta and the northern part of Guangdong is quite different. The secondary industry in the northern part of Guangdong has a relatively low proportion of the total economic output. In recent years, the growth rate has been too slow.Second, the existing industrial cooperation between the Pearl River Delta and northern Guangdong is still insufficient, and it needs to be strengthened in the future. The industrial cooperation between the Pearl River Delta and northern Guangdong failed to alleviate the problems in the industrial structure differences and industrial structure evolution of the two places. Many problems have also emerged in the cooperation, such as inactive cooperation, poor management,a single model, and excessive administrative weight.Third, regional industrial development should develop in line with its own conditions in accordance with industrial gradients. However,if external forces can be used,it is feasible to take the lead in developing advanced manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing across certain stages, such as industrial cooperation between Shenzhen and Heyuan. At the same time, this article also puts forward the following suggestions: First, strengthen the docking of industrial cooperation and avoid excessive competition. The second is to strengthen the government's role in promoting and coordinating industrial cooperation. The third is to improve the benefit-sharing system of both parties. The fourth is to explore a variety of industrial cooperation models, such as the cooperation model of "headquarters + production base" and the comprehensive cooperation model of Shenzhen Special Cooperation Zone.
