Under the background of ’The Belt and Road’ strategy and the call for’Supply-side reforms’ Chinese international enterprises are facing new opportunities and challenges.In face of complicated and changeable international environment,on the one hand,our international enterprises should make use of existing resources and advantages,adjust strategy to improve performance;on the other hand,they need to explore new knowledge and develop new capabilities,to enhance competitiveness of enterprises and promote sustainable development.For the Chinese enterprises in international market,this is undoubtedly a huge challenge.How to have both abilities of exploration and exploitation,and ultimately achieve sustainable competitiveness in dynamic environment,has become the common concern of current scholars and practitioners.As adaptive mechanism dealing with dynamic environment,the importance of exploration and exploitation is self-evident.To improve both exploration and exploitation of ’Organizational Ambidexterity’ is considered to be an important strategy for organization to gain adaptability and sustainable competitiveness.On the one hand,it provides the idea and mechanism to solve internal contradictions between exploration and exploitation;on the other hand,it also gives enterprise managers guidance on decision-making.Currently,researches about exploration&exploitation and ambidexterity have become a hot topic in academic circles.However,in the field of enterprises’ internationalization,it lacks of the study on exploration&exploitation and ambidexterity.The concept of ’International Ambidexterity’ is still ununified,the relationship between enterprise performance and it has not been clearly defined.Therefore,this paper will introduce exploration&exploitation and ambidexterity theory into the study of enterprises’ internationalization.Namely,it makes theory of organizational ambidexterity fit with the research situation of Chinese enterprises’internationalization practice.Based on literature of organizational ambidexterity and internationalization theory,combine with the research situation of Chinese international enterprises,then study exploration and exploitation and the way they matched(the Balance Dimension of Ambidexterity and the Combined Dimension of Ambidexterity)deeply.Establish hypotheses of different capabilities options with short-term financial performance and long-term growth performance.On the basis of this,the situation effect of international experience is discussed.Based on the panel data of 2002-2013 China A shares listed international enterprises,draw the following conclusions:international enterprise developing exploitation capabilities is better to short-term financial performance,while long-term growth performance is more conducive to exploration capabilities;the Combined Dimension of Ambidexterity is good for both short and long term business performance,but hypothesis of positive correlation between the Balance Dimension of Ambidexterity and short-term financial performance did not pass the test,international experience is positively affecting international ambidexterity and performance.According to above research,this paper draws the following conclusions:under the background of ’The Belt and Road’ and the transformation and upgrading,international enterprises should choose the development strategy carefully;internationalization of enterprises should be based on actual situation,choose appropriate way to gain competitiveness;development of enterprises should closely follow the changes of national environment and the situation;enterprises should learn from experience of industry and summarize experience suitable for their own development.
