The Change Of China's Service Export Sophistication And Its Influencing Factors

Taking China as the research object,this thesis analyzes the export sophistication of service trade from the perspective of the trade in added value.We introduce export sophistication of goods trade into service trade field,systematically analyzes the export sophistication of China's service trade and comparatively analyzes China's export sophistication and the countries whose services export ranking the top six of the world(China also ranking the top six in the world,thus we chose other five countries),including the United States,Germany,Britain,Japan,France and the BRIC countries including Brazil,Russia,India and South Africa,using the adjusted EXPY index with the data in trade in the added value(TIVA)database which jointly issued by WTO and OECD.The first part of this thesis explores the research background of the export sophistication of China's services trade,explains the purpose of the research,summarizes the existing research results so as to put forward the research methods,the innovation and the deficiency of this thesis.The second part analyzes the present situation of our country's service trade mainly from the angle of the service export and the service export based on the trade in value added data,it found that both the absolute value of China's exports and the proportion of the world's exports are steadily increasing with the comparative analysis.The third part analyzes China's export sophistication of service trade based on the trade in value added data.The fourth part is the international comparison of China's export sophistication of services trade,we make a comparison between the referencing economies and China.According to export sophistication of service industries,we divides nine service industries into high technology,middle technology,middle-low technology and low technology,and make a comparison between service export structure of the referencing economies and service export structure of China;The fifth part look for the factors which effects the export sophistication of service trade by building a model,we choose five independent variable including economic development level(GDP),service development scale(SCALE),service trade openness(OPEN),human capital(L)and foreign direct investment(FDI)and do the analysis from two angles of the service trade total sample and classification of the service industry sample which has different technical level;The sixth part is the suggestions on how to promote the technical level of our country's services export.the thesis draws the following conclusions:First,the world's export sophistication of service trade which is calculated based on trade in the added value shows significantly increasing trend in 1995,2000,2005,2008,2009,2010 and 2011,the adjusted export sophistication is higher than the unadjusted export sophistication,the same situation also happened in China;Secondly,as the scale of China's service export is expanding,the export sophistication index has also been slightly improved.However,the relative export sophistication index of China's service export is still lower than the average of the sample countries/regions in the thesis.We found out by study and analysis that the export sophistication of China's service trade remains relatively low despite China's service export is claimed to be one of the top of the world;Third,we analyzes every country's export technical structure according to the classification of service industry including high technology,middle technology,middle-low technology and low technology,we found that,compared with the referencing economies,china takes the leading position in the low technical service industry.However,china's export sophistication level not only lags behind the developed economies,but also lags behind the developing emerging economies such as Brazil and India in the high-tech service industry,which is the core service industry in service export.In view of the current situation of China's service trade and the export sophistication level of various service industries,this thesis gives some suggestions on promoting export sophistication of china's service export from five aspects.
