After the 1960 s,the pattern of international division of labor has undergone profound changes, the division of labor within the product has developed widely, and global value chains have gradually emerged.Developed countries have begun to focus on high value-added production processes such as key component production, technology research and development, and sales. In the form of processing trade, developing countries participate in the low-end link of the value chain and increase their trade income. The analysis of trade gains from the perspective of added value is particularly important for optimizing the export structure, accelerating the upgrading of industrial structure and building a strong trade nation. This article examines the impact of participating in global value chains on the benefits of China's manufacturing trade.Firstly, the paper analyzes the theory of value chain, comparative advantage theory, mutual demand theory and other related economic theories, input and output, and Cournot equilibrium.Second, from the perspective of manufacturing industry and sub-industry,we use the relevant data from 2000 to 2011 to measure GVC participation,GVC status index and trade income, and analyze the status quo of China's manufacturing industry's participation in the global value chain. Finally, the variables were selected from the perspectives of global value chain participation, industry factor endowments,industry-scale efficiency, industry technology level, industry environment, and institutional perspectives.Panel models were constructed to empirically analyze the impact of participation in global value chains on trade gains, and suggestions were proposed. The study found that, first of all,the global value chain influences trade gains from the perspective of the division of labor status and trade pattern.Second,China's manufacturing industry has steadily increased its participation in the global value chain and is leading the world.Knowledge-intensive industries are highly involved and labor-intensive industries are less involved. The fluctuation in the division of labor in the global value chain of the manufacturing industry has risen and there are still gaps compared with developed countries. The labor-intensive and relatively low-tech capital-intensive industries have higher rankings of the industry index,andknowledge-intensive industries rank the lowest. The development trend of the trade income of the manufacturing industry is similar to that of the status index, and it has strong ability to cope with the financial crisis, but it ranks lower than that of developed countries.Labor-intensive industries have the highest average trade gains, and knowledge-intensive industries have the lowest average trade gains. With the deepening of the international division of labor,China,as a large exporter, has become increasingly prominent in the "low-end lock-in" of the value chain.Third,China's manufacturing division of labor is positively related to trade gains, and has the greatest impact on trade gains. The precondition for deepening participation in trades to increase trade gains is to increase trade status;for manufacturing industry as a whole,it exerts factor endowment advantages and encourages scientific innovation. The increase in trade revenue is favorable;scaling up efficiency is the focus of labor and capital-intensive industries. Finally,on this basis, this paper proposes countermeasures from the perspective of maintaining comparative advantage, encouraging independent innovation, improving trade structure, and constructing a national value chain.
