establishes its position,proven to be the new driving force for global economy.Nowadays,it is more evident for the global trade which presents the digitization.According to the<World Investment Report 2017:Investment and the Digital Economy>by UNCTAD,the digital economy is on the way to affect the future economic development patterns,especially deeply influence FDI.As the primary part of the digital economy,digital games are full of vigorous vitality and tremendous potential.In 2016,the market size of global digital games exceeded $100 billion,at triple that of global film.At a rapid speed of development,Chinese digital game industry has activated the huge domestic consumer market.Currently,it is reported that China,the largest country in the digital game industry,has turned to be the capital of global digital game.There are distinctive characters shown during the development process of the Chinese digital game industry,combining the large agglomeration and the little community.Shanghai,making a 1/3 of national digital game market,is one of the main agglomeration areas of the Chinese digital game industry.Furthermore,the number and level of Shanghai's digital game public companies being markedly representative and prospective are superior to those of cities across the country.When it comes to digital content creation and digital consumption,Shanghai is the most dynamic central city,and it has obtained outstanding achievements in the digital game industry in recent years.Focusing on the Shanghai's digital game public companies,this paper comprehensively combs the current situation of Shanghai's digital game industry,analyses its clear characteristics and key measurements to promote its development,and points out that the development of Shanghai's digital game public companies is benefiting from the excellent eco-industry.Depending on key public enterprises,game live-streaming platforms,large exhibitions,emerging media,and professional gaming clubs etc.,Shanghai's digital game industry has developed the unique multicore-driven growth mechanism,which not only optimizes the spacial distribution of digital game industry in Shanghai,also promotes the deep integration between industrial upgrading and urban renewal,and similarly provides useful ideas and experiences for other Chinese cities to cultivate emerging cultural industry formats.The main contents of this thesis are as follows:In the first chapter,the thesis expounds the background and significance of the topic of the digital game industry.By combing the current situation of global digital game industry,the paper analyses the important role played by the digital game industry under the ear of digital economy,defines the main research subject and research purposes and research methods,along with explaining the theoretical framework and research ideas.The second chapter discusses the current situation and characteristics of Shanghai's public companies in the digital game.Firstly,it states the structure of Shanghai's public companies in the digital game,and then summarizes the development of the digital game industry in Shanghai.Secondly,based on the public enterprises' annual reports,it also extracts new features and tendencies presented concretely involving the IP-based development strategy and two types of the export-oriented development during the development of Shanghai's digital game industry,that makes such a combination between internal integration and external opening that inclines Shanghai to be the international radiation center for Chinese digital game industry.The third section extracts the driving mechanism of the development of Shanghai's digital game industry,and puts forward the corresponding model.The multicore-driven growth mechanism benefits from the complete digital game industry ecosystem.This chapter also analyzes the spatial layout of Shanghai's public companies in digital games,which has formed six groups.They efficiently utilize their comparative advantages and optimize the spatial layout of the digital game industry to achieve the combination of urban transformation and industrial transformation,and fully exert the proximity among industries to accelerate the upgrading of the digital game industry.The fourth section primarily analyses the six groups of Shanghai 's digital game industry.From the perspective of industrial ecology,it explains the relationships of six groups-the complex linkage and mutual benefits,including key public enterprises,game live-streaming platforms,large exhibitions,gaming media,e-sports and the financial capital.Furthermore the six groups are supplementary and competitive mutually,stimulate their potential and strengthen the growth vigour of the digital game industry in Shanghai.The fifth chapter further studies the conditions and rules for sustainable development of the multicore-driven growth mechanism of Shanghai digital game industry,and provides some suggestion,including grasping well the challenges and opportunities,developing new innovative policies and measures,improving the ecology of the digital game industry,simultaneously coordinating industrial intensify and decentralization,increasing the groups' connection and interaction and extending the industry chain.
