Research On The Effect Of Absorptive Capacity And Relationship Learning On Technological Diversification And Innovation Performance

Technological competence is the foundation of firms to survive and grow,and it helps firms to gain sustainable competitive advantage.With progress of times and development of society,technology plays a more important role in the process of firms'market competition.Then the strategy of accumulating technological competence has become critical to gain competitive advantage for modern enterprises,which means building and extending technology kernel continuously is necessary.From this point of view,technological diversification is not indispensable to the development of enterprises,and it's an inevitable course to develop sustainably.By sorting previous researches on technological diversification,it shows that most of the researches are about the relationship between technological diversification and performance of firms.Few of the researches pays attention to the influencing factors of technological diversification and how these factors influence the performance of firms by taking technological diversification as the mediation on the function route.In a sample of China technology-based firms,this study proposes three influencing factors of technological diversification,which are innovation capability,absorptive capability inside the firm and relationship learning outside the firm.Combining the three influencing factors of technological diversification with technological diversification,this study tries to structure the route of effecting firms' performance,hoping to make up the research gap.In this study,explaining variables are innovation capability,absorptive capability and relationship learning,explained variable is innovation performance,and mediating variable is technological diversification.The object of study is technology-based firms and manufacturers.It reflects how innovation capability,absorptive capability and relationship learning will influence firm's innovation performance through technological diversification as a mediator.This study proposes hypotheses on the basic of theory study and literature analysis,and collect data by using questionnaires.The data analysis software is SPSS 19.0.The hypotheses are tested by reliability analysis,validity analysis,correlation analysis and regression analysis etc.The results are followed:1.Innovation capability,absorptive capability and relationship learning have a significant positive effect on the technological diversification of firms.2.Technological diversification has a significant positive effect on the innovation performance at this stage.3.Technological diversification has a partial mediation effect between innovation capability and innovation performance.4.Technological diversification has a complete mediation effect between absorptive capability and innovation performance.Finally,discussion of result is followed,and theoretical contribution and practical enlightenment is summarized.The limitation of this study and the direction of further research is pointed out.
