According to the report of GSMA Intelligence,98%of the population had access to the Mobile internet in China until 2013.As the consumerbehavior report released by Google also pointed that 74%of the population use Smartphone inChina Mainland. With the development of internet and communication technologies and the popularity of Mobile Internet,we are entered a new era.The emergence of the Internet plus strengthen individual's dependence of Smartphone and Mobile Internet and make it an necessary part of individual's life. When individuals use the Smartphone for personal purposes, their smartphone may blink to indicate work related messages. This can keep individual round-the-clock availability and can blur the boundary between work and non-work.Some studies suggest that using communication technology across boundary may increase flexibility of work and can also strengthen the individual's feel of work control. Thus are good for work-life balance. But other studies insist that using communication technology across boundary can create a blur boundary and may interfere with individual's personal life. Thus would incur work-life conflict. These study results seem to be contradiction.According to the study of the existing literature,we find that not everyone are experience the same degrees conflict of work and non-work(Higgins&Duxbury,2005).Using communication technology across boundary change some people's work-life boundary but not all people's.In our study,we are aimed to explore the real relationship between work connectivity behavior after-hours and work-nonwork conflict. And try to explain the contradiction with individual's segmentation preference and their workplace segmentation supplies. In this thesis, one possible innovation is to find the new factor that would lead work-life conflict in the new era.Work connectivity behavior after-hours which lead by smartphone and mobile Internet are different from Using computer to work home.Individuals even not realize that work connectivity behavior after-hours which lead by smartphone and mobile Internet that actually affect their work life balance. The other possible innovation maybe that new moderator are found. In the perspective of boundary theory,we found that individual's segmentation preference and their workplace segmentation supplies can moderate the relations while previous studies are rarelyfocused.Thisthesis generally consists of six main parts:The first part is the introduction of background, possible innovations and the framework of this paper;the second part is the literature review of work connectivity behavior after-hours,work-nonwork conflict, segmentation preference and segmentation supplies;the third part is try to construct a reach model and propose three hypotheses according boundary theory and prior studies;the fourth part is the research design, procedures of the data collection will be introduced, the sample characteristics and the measures of the constructs will be will be descript;the fifth part is about data analysis,we will use hierarchical regression to test our hypotheses;the sixth part is discussion, the conclusion will be discussed and the limitations and future reach will be point out.The main conclusions can be drawn from this thesis are as follows:First, thework connectivity behavior after-hourswill increase employees work-nonwork conflict;Second, the segmentation preference will enhance the positive relationship between work connectivity behavior after-hours and work-nonwork conflict;Third, the perceived segmentation supplies will weaken the positive relationship between work connectivity behavior after-hours and work-nonwork conflict.
