In the past 20 years,3D printing technology has developed rapidly.The research direction of experts in this field mainly focuses on the molding and manufacturing of single-phase homogeneous material parts,and the research on this technology has been very mature.However,with the increasing maturity of 3D printing technology and the continuous improvement of product performance requirements in production and life,single-phase homogeneous material parts cannot meet the requirements in some specific occasions,so a new concept is proposed: heterogeneous material model(HMM).At present,3D printing technology of heterogeneous material parts is just in the initial stage,and this technology has become a hot and difficult issue in the field of 3D printing.A large number of scholars begin to invest in the research of 3D printing technology of heterogeneous material parts.Model processing software is an indispensable link between CAD modeling software and 3D printer,so the research on heterogeneous material model data processing technology is of great significance.This paper will study the data processing method of heterogeneous material model in the following aspects.IN order to solve the problem of redundant information in the model after reading,an improved vertex merging algorithm is proposed.To solve the problem of disordered triangular patches in the model after reading,an improved edge merging algorithm is proposed.The above two algorithms are elaborated.The improved vertex merging algorithm and edge merging algorithm are ready for subsequent model data processing.To solve the problem that traditional STL(Stereo lithographic)files cannot express material information,color information is adopted to represent material information.By coloring the surface of STL model and interpolating the color and coordinate information inside the model,the material information can be added to the whole model.This paper describes STL model surface coloring algorithm and data interpolation algorithm.Based on the algorithm studied,this paper developed a heterogeneous material model data processing system and introduced the modularization of the system.Taking STL model of lattice cube as an example,the data processing function of the system is demonstrated.The accuracy of the algorithm is verified by simulation experiment.
