With the rapid development of multimedia information technology,huge amounts of image data were generated.If these huge amount of image data are directly stored and transmitted,the huge amount of work will be amazing! Therefore,we need to reduce this huge amount of data as much as possible,and image compression coding technology plays an important role in it.Image compression is mainly to achieve the maximum compression of image data quantity under the basic requirements of ensuring image quality.When the large proportion of image data is reduced,its transmission and storage become much more convenient.On the wavelet transform in frequency domain and time domain with good localization characteristics,at the same time to the image data information on the accuracy of positioning to any order of magnitude,precisely because of these advantages,based on wavelet transform image compression coding method to replace the traditional based on discrete cosine transform and other sub-band coding technology.It has become a widely used and data compression method.In this paper,the commonly used image compression coding methods are firstly introduced comprehensively,then the wavelet transform and the application of wavelet transform in image compression technology are introduced in detail.Finally the method of image compression using dual density and dual tree complex wavelet transform is proposed.The main content of this paper is as follows:Chapter 1 discusses the necessity and feasibility of image data compression under the environment of rapid development of information technology,and the unique advantages of image compression method based on wavelet transform.Chapter 2 introduces the basic principle of image data compression method,and briefly introduces seven common image compression coding methods:statistical coding,predictive coding,transform coding,sub-band coding,fractal image compression coding,model based image coding and vector quantization coding.The characteristics and shortcomings of each coding method are introduced respectively.In chapter 3,the basic theory of this paper is comprehensively introduced,including Fourier transform and inverse Fourier transform,wavelet transform,multi-resolution analysis and Mallat algorithm.In chapter 4,the density dual tree complex wavelet transform is proposed,and the double density is analyzed.The characteristics of dual tree complex wavelet transform is studied based on the double density dual tree complex wavelet transform image compression technology,and the experiment simulation made the comparison and analysis of experimental results,verify the dual tree complex wavelet transform based on double density image compression has a good compression quality and effect.
