Self-disclosure And Privacy Protection On Social Media

Individual self-disclosure on social media has become the norm.On social media,people have completed the transformation from content receiver to content producer and gained a lot of happiness brought by the enhancement of subjectivity.However,there is often a gap between the intention of self-disclosure on social media and the actual effect of self-disclosure.Self-disclosure also has a variety of problems,including privacy infringement.Based on her social exchange theory as the theoretical basis for investigation of social media on self-disclosure,self-disclosure on social media is regarded as a kind of social exchange,explore the motivation of social media self-disclosure,self-disclosure exchange of micro and macro analysis of social media exchange mechanism,examining social media self-disclosure in exchange for the right of privacy in the process of reason for the injured and privacy protection,in the hope of seeking social media privacy protection approach of sociology.It is found that social attraction is the motivation for the exchange of self-disclosure on social media,and the desire for social rewards is the motivation for individuals' self-disclosure on social media.Based on the exchange mechanism of social media self-disclosure constructed from the perspective of social exchange theory,it is found that in the process of social media self-disclosure exchange,the reasons for privacy injury include individual's random sharing,improper use of social media platforms,and malicious theft by criminals.Among micro exchange individuals,the dilemma of privacy protection stems from the gaming dilemma of rights and interests,while from the perspective of macro exchange,the power structure relationship between exchange organizations is another dilemma of privacy protection.By introducing the value consensus principle in brough's social exchange theory,this paper puts forward the corresponding countermeasures for privacy protection.
