The development of discontinuities determines the mechanical and hydraulic properties of rock mass,and the characteristic parameters of discontinuities are the basis for evaluating the quality of rock mass.The method of obtaining the discontinuities information from traditional field measurement is time-consuming and laborious,and it is difficult to realize the measurement at the dangerous terrain,and the accuracy is not high.Therefore,it is very important and realistic to study fast and efficient discontinuities information detection and interpretation methods and corresponding rock mass quality evaluation methods.Based on the image of rock mass in the field,the parameters of discontinuities are obtained by image processing technology,and these parameters are used to evaluate the quality of rock mass.The main work and research are as follows:(1)Taking the rock mass image as the research object,a method of automatic detection of discontinuities traces based on image processing technology is proposed.The method is based on the principle of phase consistency to detect the edge,get the segmented line of the discontinuities including the pseudo edge,and then use the piecewise line iterative algorithm to remove the false edge and connect the discontinuities trace,and compare the results with the results of other methods,the comparison shows that the method has good effect.(2)According to the plane coordinates of rock mass surface and the coordinate of 3-D control point,the SIFT algorithm is used to match rock mass image,then the coordinate transformation of the matching points is realized by the DLT method,and the plane coordinates of the trace are converted into 3-D coordinates,and the 3-D model of the trace line of the discontinuities is established.(3)Based on the established 3-D model of the discontinuities trace,the method of digitizing the index of geometry characteristic is studied.It is used to digitize the grouping,trace length,distance,roughness coefficient,block volume and connectivity index,and calculate the probability of the characteristic parameters of the discontinuities.(4)A method for evaluating the quality of rock mass with 3-DRMR classification is studied.This method converse of the 3-D discontinuities index to the corresponding index in the 2-DRMR classification and replace the 3-D index into the evaluation formula of the 2-D index.Based on the Bayesian network,the interval probability of rock mass quality evaluation is analyzed,and compared to the interval probability results of the quality evaluation of the GSI system,the comparison shows that the method has good effect.
