Recently,millimeter-wave technology has been widely studied and developed due to its unique advantages of wideband,narrow beamwidth and excellent anti-interference ability,and it has important application value in modern communication and radar field.Two dimensional beam scanning antenna array plays a significant role in communication and radar systems.With the rise of new gap waveguide(GWG)technology with significant advantages in millimeter-wave band,it is a creative design thought to combine the GWG with beam scanning antenna.This paper focuses on the research of GWG two-dimensional beam scanning antenna array in the W band.A low sidelobe leaky wave antenna based on GWG and a multi-beam network based on GWG are designed in this paper,finally one-dimension achieves frequency beam scanning function by the leaky wave antenna and the other achieves phase beam scanning function by the multi-beam network.The main work of this paper is as follows:1.Design and optimization of a low sidelobe leaky wave antenna based on gap waveguide technology:this part is based on the groove gap waveguide,the leaky wave antenna is realized by destroying the two dimensional periodic structure on the one side of GWG.The factors that affect the complex propagation constant of the antenna are analyzed in detail.In order to obtain a good radiation performance,the antenna aperture distribution has been designed,then the leaky wave antenna is designed and optimized by mainly controlling the mental pin height on the radiation side and adjusting the pin distance as the fine tuning factor.Finally,a W band leaky wave antenna is realized with the advantages of simple structure,wide band,high efficiency and low sidelobe level.2.Design of a two-dimensional beam scanning antenna array based on gap waveguide technology:Combining the leaky wave antenna and multi-beam techonology to realize the two-dimensional beam scanning,and the multi-beam network takes the form of Butler matrix.Firstly,a wide band 4×4 Butler matrix composed of 3dB directional coupler,crossover and phase shifter all based on GWG is designed,when switching the input port,there will be different phase differences of the output ports.Then the Butler matrix is used as the feeding network of the leaky wave antenna array.Finally,a two-dimentional beam scanning antenna array is realized with both frequency scanning and phase scanning functions.
