In this paper,a leaky wave antenna operating at X wave band is studied,and the influence of structure parameters on the shape of beam direction and beam direction is discussed.Widely beam scanning antenna is used in automotive collision avoidance radar,satellite navigation system.Then joined the accompanied by transition metal granting structure of axis cylinder,accomplish dimension in the one-dimensional beam scanning function.The main contents are as follows:First,the working theory and design principle for dielectric waveguide was introduced on the basis of the difference between cylindrical dielectric and metallic cylindrical waveguide describe the field inside and outside waveguide with comparing between different modes were briefly analyzed and compared.Secondly,introduces the leaky wave antenna principle,when the electromagnetic wave propagates along the traveling wave structure,if along the structure with regular estate life leak,the antenna is similar to a conventional linear array radiation pattern in the far field region,the process known as leaky wave.This leaky wave structure is called leaky wave antenna.Finally,study on the change of the parameters of the various media to the influence of the antenna.The load heavy metal granting dielectric insert waveguide leaky wave a ntenna radiation characteristics,using the network analytical method promotion model o f electromagnetic field,establish the eigenvalue equation of numerical results showed th at the metal grid spacing effect on the direction of the wave and leaky wave antennas.
