The 3D reconstruction of foot plays an important role in a wide range of fields,such as personal shoes customization,assessment of foot health,research of human kinematics and so’on.We design a system for 3D reconstruction of foot and the shoe last matching.The system has realized the 3D reconstruction of bare foot based on the stereo-vision,the parameters measurement of foot from the 3D foot model.Bare feet are smooth on top,which makes it difficult to recover instep’s 3D shape by matching its feature in different pictures.In order to make it easy to match,laser spots are projected to the feet as auxiliary features.A 3D reconstruction of instep based on the laser spot is proposed.According to the morphological regularity of foot,an image segmentation method based on adaptive partition is utilized to extract the top and side contour of instep.The world coordinates of the laser spots on foot are obtained by establishing the look-up table of the laser spots’ spatial distribution.Finally,the surface shape recovery of the instep is realized based on contours and laser spots using Delaunay Triangulation algorithm.Since the harsh assumptions used in the traditional SFS algorithm isn’t applicable to our experimental environment,a 3D reconstruction method of sole based on the plantar image’s feature segmentation is proposed.The sole is segmented into two regions by the morphological features in the image.And an experiment is designed to summarize the law between the plantar height and gray value in each region.Then we realize the two regions’ plantar reconstruction separately on the basis of the regulation.Besides the above,the system extract the foot length,foot width and the tarsus height from the foot contours..On the basis of locating the key points of the foot girth,a cutting plane can be calculated.Thus the metatarsal girth and tarsal circumference are extracted from the 3D foot model.At last,the fittest shoe last is chosen according to the comfort relationship between the corresponding parameters of foot and shoe last.The main contents of this paper have been applied in our foot measurement equipment.
