Research On The Method Of Router Alias Resolution Based On Detection

With the advance of science and the rapid development of the network,observing network topology from the perspective of router and understanding network building have important significance and have caused the wide attention of scholars and experts from home and abroad.Alias resolution is a vital process that converts IP level network topology to router level with great helpful.The thesis is focused on the detection methods of alias resolution.The thesis first introduces the purpose and significance of alias resolution,and summarizes research results of related fields at home and abroad.And then presents the traceroute mechanism,alias filter technology and alias resolution methods using now,analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of various methods and summarizes future work of alias resolution.Finally,we generalize the content.The thesis,on the one hand,improves the traditional alias resolution method which is based on the same source mechanism to explore the influence of integrity of alias resolution results using different source ports and destination ports.The experiment is based on UDP packet to detect the IP address of the Internet scale by using the method of fixing source port traversal destination port and fixing destination port traversal source port.Port is any port in the range from 0 to 65535.According to the experimental results,we can find that using different port filling detection message can improve the integrity of alias resolution results in some way,while destination port has greater influence than source port.On the other hand,the thesis solves the problem of alias resolution method based on IGMP neighbor detection message according to the thought that if two addresses are alise,then the operating system versions of routers they belong to are the same.The problem is caused by administrators configuring the IP address of the router by mistaken.This problem leads to the incorrect merger of routers and we apply mrinfo to do alias resolution on IP address of the Internet scale.The experiment results confirm our idea can solve this problem very well.Meanwhile,we also find iffinder is helpless for this problem though experiments.Besides,the thesis also puts forward a new method which combines alias resolution method based on the mechanism of the same source address and IGMP neighbor message,and we use the combination method to do alias resolution on IP address of the Internet scale.The experimental results show that the combination method can effectively improve the integrity of alias resolution results and improve the efficiency and universality of alias resolution method.
