Objective : Self-confidence is a psychological characteristic that reflects an individual’s confidence in his or her ability to successfully complete an activity.The psychological problems of contemporary college students are becoming increasingly prominent,and the lack of self-confidence is the main reason for the psychological problems of college students,College students are in the critical period of personality development.The level of self-confidence in this period is especially important for college students,Therefore,it is necessary to investigate the self-confidence level of college students and develop intervention programs to improve the self-confidence level of college students,This research uses swimming intervention methods to explore the feasibility of swimming exercises to improve college students’ self-confidence,provide references and basis for sports intervention in the future to cultivate college students’ self-confidence,and provide scientific methods for college students’ mental health development.Methods:This research uses the literature method,questionnaire survey method,experimental research method,mathematical statistics method as the research method,The study uses the "College Students Self-Confidence Scale" as a research tool to evaluate the self-confidence level of college students,Randomly select 720 college students from Chizhou College to investigate and analyze their self-confidence level,According to the survey results,60 college students were recruited for a three-month experimental intervention.The experiment was divided into an experimental group and a control group,each group of 30 subjects.The experimental group used a three-month swimming exercise intervention,and the control group did not do any intervention.The experimental group and the control group received the self-confidence level test before and after the experiment,According to the comparative analysis of survey analysis and experiment,the following research results are obtained:Survey results:(1)College students’ self-confidence is at a medium level,and the scores of the various dimensions of self-confidence from high to low are: academic self-confidence,social self-confidence,overall self-confidence,physical self-confidence.(2)There is a significant difference in the self-confidence level of collegestudents in gender(P <0.01),and the self-confidence level of boys is higher than that of girls.(3)There is a very significant difference in the level of self-confidence of college students in grades(P <0.01).(4)The social self-confidence dimension of college students’ self-confidence level is significantly different in different student origins(P<0.05).The self-confidence of urban students is higher than that of rural students.(5)The degree of academic self-confidence of college students’ self-confidence level is significantly different in different professional categories(P <0.05),and the liberal arts majors are higher than the science majors.Intervention study results:(1)The total score of the self-confidence scale of the experimental group was significantly improved after the intervention,and the difference between the pre-and post-test of the experimental group was statistically significant [(3.05±0.2)vs(3.40±0.13),T =-7.85,P <0.01 ] At the same time,the experimental group had significant differences in the four dimensions of self-confidence(overall self-confidence,academic self-confidence,social self-confidence,and physical self-confidence)(P<0.05).(2)The total score of the self-confidence scale of the control group was in the pre-and post-test tests [(3.02±0.22)vs(2.97±0.10),T = 1.20,P >0.05],there was no significant difference between the before and after test scores,which can be seen in the control group Maintain a certain stability throughout the experiment,with little change.The conclusions of this study are as follows:(1)College students’ self-confidence is at a medium level.Academic and social self-confidence are the most concerned aspects of college students and the main source of their self-confidence.Overall self-confidence and physical self-confidence are lower than self-confidence.The college students exist in the dimensions of overall self-confidence and physical self-confidence.The situation is not confident.(2)Significant differences in college students’ self-confidence in gender,grade,birthplace,and specialty.(3)The experimental research results show that the three-month swimming intervention can help improve the self-confidence level of college students.The self-confidence level of college students has significant differences before and afterthe experiment,indicating that swimming exercise has a great effect on improving the self-confidence level of college students.(4)Swimming exercise intervention has a positive effect on improving the self-confidence level of college students.In the dimension of self-confidence,swimming exercise greatly improves the overall self-confidence and physical self-confidence dimension of college students,and has the highest improvement in physical self-confidence. |
