| Whether children’s motor development contributes to their approaches to learning has always been one of the focus in preschool education.Some quantitative research suggested that 3-5-year-old children’s approaches to learning have a significant positive correlation with their fine motor development.Thus,the observation method was used to investigate the impact of fine motor development on approaches to learning among six 4-5-year-old children from a Kindergarten in NanjingFirstly,the characteristics of four types of fine motor of six children are described and analyzed in detail.Besides,the similarities and differences of the children’s fine motor of three different levels are discussed.The results suggest that the three types of children’s fine motor show relatively good,average,and relatively poor,according to The guidelines for 3-6-year-old children’s learning and developmentSecondly,children’s initiative,attention and persistence,imagination and creativity,reflection and explanation,planning,problem-solving skills,curiosity and interest are described and analyzed in detail.Besides,the reasons why children’s fine motor development influence their approaches to learning are analyzed.The results show that children’s fine motor development has a great impact on their initiative,attention and persistence,planning,and problem-solving skillsThen,the mechanism of how children’s fine motor development influences their initiative,attention and persistence,planning,and problem-solving skills is discussed The results suggest that the key factors of how fine motor development influence their approaches to learning include children’s emotion,whether the task is in children’s zone of proximal development,and children’s experienceFinally,suggestions to promote children’s fine motor and approaches to learning are discussed for children of three different levels of fine motor development. |
