| In the trend of the new era,the widespread applicability of mathematics has penetrated into all aspects of modern society and people’s daily life,directly creating value for society and promoting the development of social productivity.Conversely,the development of social productive forces has put forward higher requirements for applied mathematics technology,which has led to the development and change of mathematical education and has affected the training mode of innovative talents.Engels defines mathematics as“Science that studies the quantitative relations and spatial forms of the objective world”.In other words,the quantitative relationship of the objective world is abstracted and expressed by a mathematical formula,that is,a mathematical model.In 2017,the Ministry of Education promulgated the "New High School Mathematics New Curriculum Standard(2017 Edition)" proposed: "Mathematical modeling is an important form of mathematical applications,and it is also citizens’ essential attainments." Therefore,the cultivation of students’ mathematical modeling capabilities is very important.In order to better cultivate students’ mathematical modeling capacity,it is necessary to understand current situation of students’ mathematical modeling capabilities.This paper investigates the current situation of modeling ability of second grade students in junior middle school by means of test and questionnaire.First of all,the research results related to mathematical modeling at home and abroad,as well as books and monographs were classified.Then the connotation,level division,and theoretical basis of mathematical modeling were sorted out.All of these provide the theoretical basis for the compilation mathematical modeling test papers.On this basis,the level division criterion and research framework of mathematics modeling ability of second grade students in junior middle school are given.Secondly,the test papers were compiled according to the level division and formulated the scoring rules.By analyzing the test papers that finished by them,which the current level of mathematical modeling ability of second grade students in junior middle school was understood.The final questionnaires were composed of teacher questionnaires and student questionnaires,which aimed to understand the popularity of mathematical modeling in junior high school.And the reliability and validity of test papersand questionnaires was tested,and then a phased investigation and implementation of the junior high school the second grade students of key and ordinary schools were finished.Finally,using the statistical data SPSS 22.0 and Excel analyzed the collected data.Based on the above research,the current status and related conclusions of mathematics modeling ability of second grade students in junior middle school in the area were obtained.(1)Teachers and students have a low understanding of mathematical modeling and the school attaches little importance to mathematical modeling.(2)The mathematics modeling ability of second grade students in junior middle school is not high as a whole,there is a significant difference in school categories but no difference in gender.(3)Students are willing to participate in activities related to mathematical modeling,but they are not proactive in using mathematical knowledge to solve problems encountered in life.(4)Teachers properly connect with real life in teaching,but choose conventional teaching in solving mathematical application problems,and rarely guide students to think about problems in different ways.Based on the above conclusions,several related recommendations for schools,teachers,and students in terms of training and developing students’ mathematical modeling capabilities were put forward. |
