Due to the core competencies,which was mentioned by both comprehensively deep curriculum-reform and General Senior High School Mathematics Curriculum Standard(2017 Edition),mathematical education in China has pushed the cultivation of students' mathematical core competencies to a high level.However,the core competencies of mathematics can't be easily acquired by teaching.It is procedural,which means it is a long-term teaching process,and must be cultivated under the context of carrying mathematical problems.Therefore,the creation of mathematical context plays a vital role in cultivating students' mathematical core competencies.This article has put forward two research questions focusing on how to implement the core competencies of mathematics in the classroom,and the importance of creating situation:(1)Under the perspective of mathematical key competencies,what are the valid elements of setting up mathematical situation in a senior high school classroom?(2)Based on the validity framework in question 1 and video analysis,How to create a high school mathematics classroom situation in order to cultivate students' mathematical key competencies?In this paper,the validity framework for situation-creation based on core competencies in a high school mathematical classroom has been established by using both literature research method and video research method.First,the author has theoretically teased out various views,which were put forward by different scholars,on mathematical situation-creation and the effectiveness of it.Then,a framework of validity has been initially obtained by both sorting out the relationship of mathematical situation-creation,mathematical key literacy,students,and teachers,and the effective characteristics of mathematical situation-creation in a high school mathematical classroom.In practice,the author has exemplified the core elements of the validity framework by watching videos.At the same time,teachers and curricular experts' opinions on the validity framework in this paper have been collected to modifying the validity framework.Ultimately,the coding system of this paper is established according to the validity framework.The author has obtained the following conclusions by data statistics,encoding analysis,and text transcription from 10 situation-creation video clips:(1)the mathematical objects should be very appropriate and cleverly contained in the situation,and the setting of the situation is consistent with the students' cognitive developing level;(2)In the process of situation-creation,the teacher cultivates the core competencies of the students in form of question chain;(3)The situation-creation can better promote students to express the reasoning process in mathematical language;(4)In the content of number and algebra,teachers take advantage of mathematical representation and transformation to cultivate students'mathematical abstract competencies;(5)In the content of space and geometry,teachers use more mathematics-experiment situation to cultivate students'mathematical abstract competencies;(6)When it comes to mathematical modeling competencies,teachers have chosen to help students understand mathematical modeling ideas by setting up situation.(7)Multimedia technology has been used to assist mathematical experiments when creating situation.According to the conclusions obtained from the research,the author then has given corresponding teaching suggestions for situation creation:creating situations after the consider of students'learning situation;creating different types of situations to guide students to observe with mathematical view;designing hierarchical mathematical problems to promote students to think under mathematical mind;focusing on the cultivation of mathematical modeling competencies and encouraging students to express in mathematical language;using information technology appropriately in the context.The author expects that the above suggestions can help teachers to create situation in the future and let situation-creation give play to cultivating core competencies of students.
