In recent years,with the vigorous promotion and reform of education in China,traditional teaching methods can not meet the needs of talents in the development of the new era,stem education emerged in such an environment.Based on stem concept,this paper explores the cultivation of students' scientific inquiry ability in high school physics curriculum.In the first chapter,the paper expounds the background and significance of the topic.The connotation of stem education,the connotation of physical science inquiry ability and the relationship between them.Then it analyzes the research status and progress of stem education at home and abroad,the research status of scientific inquiry ability at home and abroad,and the research objectives,research contents,research ideas and research methods of this paper.In the second chapter,it introduces the theoretical basis of stem education and the idea emphasized by stem education,as well as how to cultivate the scientific inquiry ability of middle school students in physics teaching.On the basis of the above research content,it organically integrates stem idea with high school physics curriculum and conducts practical research.In the process of teaching case design,it includes designing ideas,defining teaching objectives,creating situations,providing materials and tools,designing schemes,implementing schemes,recording and analyzing data,exchanging and expressing,and drawing conclusions.The third chapter of this paper investigates and analyzes the current situation of students' scientific inquiry ability,and through the way of sending out questionnaires,investigates the current situation of stem curriculum implementation in some middle schools in the city where the author is located,as well as interviews with students participating in stem curriculum,to understand what kind of ways they know stem curriculum and the significance of participating in stem curriculum.The fourth chapter first analyzes the consistency between the teaching concept emphasized in stem education and the teaching in the physics course of senior high school,and then designs the course based on stem concept-"free falling movement" and "making of electromagnetic gun".Next,five and seven classes of a senior high school in Xuhui District of Shanghai are selected as the experimental class and the control class.First of all,a questionnaire survey was conducted on the current situation of the students' scientific inquiry ability of the two classes,and it was found that the overall difference between the two classes was not significant,and there was room for improvement,so the comparative practice research could be carried out separately.Then,the senior high school physics course teaching based on stem concept was carried out on the fifth class of the experimental class,and the scientific inquiry ability of the students in the class of stem concept teaching was involved The results show that the p value of several elements in the ability of scientific inquiry is less than 0.05,indicating that the difference between the former and the latter is significant.Thus,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)the students' ability to explore the physical science needs to be improved;(2)the high school physics curriculum based on stem concept helps to improve the students' ability to explore the physical science.Finally,the author puts forward the following suggestions on how to implement the physics curriculum based on stem concept: give students more time to explore;improve teaching equipment and teaching environment;cultivate teachers with stem literacy.
