Abstract/Summary:
With the deepening of the reform of history education in China’s middle schools, the history education community has also paid more and more attention to the study of history textbooks.Carefully researching and digging up the textbook auxiliary system of history textbooks is not only conducive to the development of the professional qualities of middle school history teachers themselves, but also conducive to teachers grasping the history classroom, helping students transform their learning methods and maximizing their learning and development. As an important part of the text auxiliary system, research on columns is an important step in digging into history textbooks, which is conducive to conforming to the trend of textbooks changing from ‘textbooks’ to ‘schoolbooks’ and promotes active learning, cooperative learning, and inquiry learning,Create good teaching material conditions for the transformation of students’ learning methods, help students to learn by themselves,so that students can achieve direct dialogue with the text. This article takes the columns of the history textbooks of British high schools as the research object, and attempts to use Chinese Transformation: 1936-1997 published by Oxford University in 2015 and the UK 2013 version of the National Curriculum Standards of History as the basic texts of the research.Research in order to reveal the characteristics of the columns in the British history textbooks.Start with the most basic concepts, define the concepts of the columns studied, and then introduce the overall framework of the book in conjunction with the latest edition of the National Curriculum Standards of the British History Department.Next, the Oxford University Edition China’s Transformation: 1936-1997 in this book combined with the curriculum standards from the content, role and characteristics of three aspects of specific analysis. Finally, there are four main characteristics of the columns: first, the presentation is fixed and easy to find;second, the concept of time and space is emphasized, and it is closely related to the content of the text;third, the use of historical materials is emphasized;at least, the types are diverse, and the columns close relationship.Knowing the experience of compiling the Oxford version of history textbook columns and based on China’s national conditions,I draw some inspirations for the compilation of the history textbook columns in China’s middle schools and point out the shortcomings of this book.In addition,There are two innovations in this article. On the one hand, the topicselection is relatively new.At present, the domestic research on British history textbooks mainly focuses on the text system and the text auxiliary system. The column belongs to the study of the subsystem of the subtext system. On the other hand, the research object of this article is a new version of the British history textbooks. The curriculum standards referenced are also the latest curriculum standards in the United Kingdom. To a certain extent, they can reflect the latest development direction of history education in the United Kingdom.
