Procrastination is defined as a response that avoids problems.Study procrastination is"deliberately delaying or postponing a task that must be completed.Learning procrastination is common among students,and it has a more serious negative impact on middle school students.It not only affects students' learning habits and academic achievements,but also reduces their selfconfidence in learning behaviors,which has a serious negative impact on the mental health development of middle school students.Based on the phenomenon of middle school students' learning procrastination,educators should pay attention to it immediately.In order to curb the behavior of middle school students' learning procrastination,this study will contribute its own scientific strength.The scales selected in this study are: middle school students' learning motivation scale,middle school students' learning procrastination scale,and middle school students' academic self-efficacy scale.The three scales have good reliability and validity.310 middle school students were tested,and SPSS23.0 and Mplus7.4 were used for data statistical analysis.The purpose of this study is to explore the relationship between learning motivation and learning procrastination in the context of the development of mental health education for middle school students,and to explore the mediating effect of academic self-efficacy on both.The results show that:(1)Junior middle school students' learning procrastination is at a medium level,with significant differences in grade,and grade 3 students' learning procrastination is the lowest.(2)There is a significant gender difference in junior middle school students' learning procrastination,and boys have more serious learning procrastination problems than girls.(3)The learning motivation level of junior high school students is in the middle level,with differences in grades and the strongest motivation in the third grade.(4)There is a significant negative correlation between junior middle school students' learning motivation and learning delay,and there is a significant negative prediction.(5)There is a significant negative correlation between academic self-efficacy and learning delay in junior middle school students,and there is a significant negative prediction.(6)There is a significant positive correlation between junior high school students' learning motivation and academic self-efficacy,and there is a significant positive prediction.This study concludes that the academic self-efficacy of junior high school students plays a part in mediating between learning motivation and learning procrastination.This study provides evidence for the psychological mechanism of learning procrastination in junior high school students.
