Self-control is an important part of young children's self-awareness.Active mastery and good self-control help young children complete various tasks and successfully adapt to society,and have certain predictive effects on future academic achievements,interpersonal relationships,and physical conditions.The pre-school period is a critical period for the development of children's self-control ability.At this stage,it is of great significance to train children's self-control ability.The research adopts an action research paradigm.Five large class children,including three children with high self-control ability and two children with low self-control ability,are selected as the research subjects for a three-month sand table game activity.The behavior model is designed based on three aspects of social cognitive ability,self-focusing ability,and behavior regulation.Six picture books were used as the theme source to conduct twelve theme sandbox activities.A goal,action,reflection,and improvement formed one.Spiral development action research process,through the introduction of picture books,making sandboxes,role-playing and discussion and communication,to enable children to obtain a rich self-controlled game experience and comprehensive development.The study selected 5 young children with similar self-control levels in the same class as the control group.The children's self-control ability teacher assessment questionnaire was used for pre-test and post-test.The effectiveness of self-control ability,after three months of three rounds of action research,came to the following conclusions:First,after the group sand table game was implemented,the children in the action group were significantly higher in all dimensions and total scores of their self-control ability than before the activity.The implementation effect was more obvious for children with low self-control.Second,teachers' effective guidance strategies during sand table games can improve children's self-control ability.Third,group atmosphere and peer interaction will affect children's self-control ability.In a stable and harmonious group atmosphere,children with low self-control are more willing to restrain their violations in active and effective interaction with their peers.
