Since the reform and opening up,due to the country's attention to the development process of urbanization,China's urbanization development level is rapidly increasing.Along with the improvement of the level of urbanization,China's national economic level has been rapidly improved, and the living standards of residents have also undergone a qualitative leap. And the problems that come with it are gradually exposed. In the latest report of the Nineteenth National Congress, the problem of “unbalanced inadequacy” in China's regional development has been clarified. This problem is mainly concentrated on the imbalance between urban and rural development and the gap between urban and rural areas. Therefore, based on the above problems, this paper uses the relevant data in the statistical yearbook to measure the urbanization level by constructing a comprehensive index system, and uses the micro-data to establish a multi-layer model and then join the macro-urbanization level to study the differences between urban and rural income levels,in order to be able to Give reasonable explanations and relevant policy recommendations. This paper firstly calculates the urbanization level of 31 provinces in China by establishing a comprehensive evaluation index system for urbanization from a macro perspective.Because the research direction of this paper is to analyze the influence of urbanization development on the income gap between urban and rural areas and the degree of impact. Therefore, when the indicators are selected, our urbanization indicators related to urban and rural income include three categories.Indicators: Urbanization of economic development, urbanization of infrastructure construction, and urbanization of population employment.Compared with the measurement through a certain indicator, the measurement using the comprehensive evaluation system can more fully reflect every aspect affecting the level of urbanization, and also has a certain interpretation of the degree of influence. Therefore,it is closer to the actual level of new urbanization across the country. The results show that the level of new urbanization between the country and even the provinces and cities is unbalanced, and the regional differences are obvious. In order to investigate the impact of urbanization in different regions on urban-rural income gap, this paper analyzes the income difference between urban and rural population from a microscopic perspective, and uses a multi-layer model to explain it.In the layer-first model, variables that can explain the income of the research object are added. In the second model, the urbanization evaluation index constructed in the previous section is added as a macro factor to study how the urbanization in different regionsaffects the income gap between urban and rural areas. The results show that on the one hand, there is a clear correlation between the ratio of urban and rural per capita income and the level of urbanization, that is,the higher the level of urbanization development, the greater the ratio of the total income of urban residents to the per capita total income of rural residents; On the one hand, urbanization development will have a positive effect on narrowing the income gap between urban and rural areas, that is,urbanization development can further narrow the urban-rural income gap.And for regions with higher urbanization levels, urbanization development will narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas, but its effect is weaker than the lower urbanization level.According to the research results,we can see that promoting urbanization development is an effective way to solve the urban-rural income gap. Therefore,at the same time,we summarize the research results and propose policies to promote population urbanization and promote industrial restructuring and upgrading. It is recommended to narrow the income gap between urban and rural areas in China.
