In 2017,the new edition of the "Compulsory Education Primary School Science Curriculum Standards" was issued, requiring primary science textbooks to be adapted to the needs of the times and national science education. As an Asian technology powerhouse adjacent to China,Japan quickly put into use new textbooks after the introduction of the new elementary science curriculum standards in 2008 to keep pace with the development of contemporary science society.Based on the background of the continuous revision of science textbooks, this paper chooses the Chinese version of "Science" and the Japanese version of the "Science" primary school science textbook for comparison, hoping to contribute to the development of science education. This paper mainly uses the literature method, comparative analysis method and text analysis method, taking the contents of "Earth and Universe" as an example to comprehensively analyze the similarities and differences between the Hunan version and the Tokyo version of the primary school science textbook.Firstly,it outlines the development process of science education in primary schools in China and Japan, and then compares the structure, content selection, design style, experimental exploration and unit review. The study found that from the perspective of writing structure, the structure of Hunan version is simple and easy to understand, and the emotional attitude values are integrated into the whole teaching process. The knowledge points of the various grades in the Tokyo version are more logical, and the language expression is more appealing; From the above point of view, the Hunan version is rich in content, but the Tokyo version has higher requirements for learning points. From the perspective of design style, the Hunan version of the textbook focuses on the subject matter of the subject, and attaches importance to cultivating the national pride of the students. The Tokyo version of the textbook emphasizes the promotion of students. From the perspective of experimental inquiry, the Tokyo version of the textbook is more specific in the experimental steps and steps than the Hunan version of the textbook;in the unit review, the Hunan version of the textbook focuses on developmental evaluation, fully embodying the modern evaluation curriculum reform concept, attaching importance to evaluation The subject is diversified, while the Tokyo version focuses on knowledge and skills.According to the comparison results,it is suggested that China should pay attention to the systemization of the curriculum structure, the life of knowledge, the interest of design, the specificity of experiments and the diversification of questions.
