In recent years,China has actively taken measures to strengthen the construction of compulsory education boarding schools and gradually expand the boarding scale of primary and secondary school students in compulsory education,to a certain extent,has increased the number of boarding students.As a result,boarding students face more and more problems.Especially for the junior high school freshman group,they are in adolescence,their physiology and psychology are facing great changes,the first problem they need to face is adaptation.In this study,a random survey was conducted among junior high school freshmen in M middle school by interview and questionnaire.According to the results of interviews and questionnaires,it is found that the new junior high school students in this school have different degrees of psychological adaptation.In the early stage of this study,we mainly used the methods of literature,observation,interview and questionnaire to analyze the main manifestations of psychological adaptation of boarding junior high school freshmen.In the later stage,the method of case social work was used to improve the psychological adaptability of boarding junior high school freshmen.In the specific service process,according to the formulated plan and objectives,through eight case talks,around each meeting theme,the main use of people-oriented treatment model to guide the target of the service.Change self-cognition,understand the relationship between self-problems and environment,help the object of service to establish social support system,and finally realize the coordination and unity of individual and environment,so as to improve the ability of psychological adaptation.This study holds that social workers' intervention by casework is effective in helping the clients to realize their self-cognition and reach agreement with the surrounding environment.However,the casework method has some limitations,which can be combined with the professional methods and advantages of group work and community work to improve the psychological adaptability of rural boarding junior high school freshmen.
